Wow, I had no idea Sony was doing this! Awesome.
@nukeitall
The company Sony bought never had a problem with latency, they showed to be stable for game streaming even before Sony bought them out. Onlive had a little issue with that though, If I remember right.
Plus if you have a connection that Sony suggests it will be even better. Besides, that is why they are going to have a large beta right? To work out the kinks...
This sounds like a fantastic service to me, I would be willing to pay. ...
@malokevi
"I recall MS doing a demonstration with NASA"
How was anything MS did practical for gaming or gamers?
"and N4G screaming that the servers were down the hall and an unrealistic demo. Does that sound familiar?"
People will use anything to belittle what the other "side" is doing, it works both ways.
I still don't see what they are doing "compute" or otherwise that makes any ...
How would they know you own a game on disc? You could have borrowed it, rented it ect... I could see many people try to cheat the system to get free digital copies of games. Maybe with digitally bought downloaded games though, I hope they work with people on that.
It's how the cloud is used that makes it just a theoretical thing or a practical thing. Sony showed the cloud actually being used for something practical, that gamers will be able to use and enjoy. I'm sure other things can be done with the cloud, but it is good to actually show it and prove it.
I thought only one person per team had a titan at any given time?... And the other players could hop on or whatever and hang on it.
@BattleAxe
Agreed 8v8 worked very well for socom and similar games, but that's more of a corridor crawling, strategic type game (which I love). Titanfall seems like all out war going on. It still looks cool but 6 vs 6 seems a little odd, could work though...

It doesn't work to divide numbers sold, by countries, because unit allocation differs greatly. There are few large demand territories and many many small territories, there are much more units available in the large territories. besides that there is only a limited stock regardless of how many countries you are in.
This is pre beta anyways, they will be working on it and the kinks during beta before it is officially released.
I'm excited that they showed it though...
@ThePope
It will all be ok. Get some sleep, take vitamins and breath deeply. The bad Sony conspiracy will go away.
The thing isn't even in stock and it's no. 2 on amazon us. It's seriously a monster. It's selling at a low of $499.99 right now, and still doing good...

Great to hear this works so well pre beta... I'm sure it will be even better when launched.
Anyone know if the PSP will be supported? I'm old school.
I may have to get the vita for this service...
@MestreRothN4G
I imagine the only fanboy crying is you because of such a great service coming to the PS4.
Well, it's not just classic games even though I will enjoy those very much, It will stream from every gen I thought. Probably not very new releases but who knows. I'm sure as far as money goes it will save people a ton. Love the Simpson reference.
Game streaming was done but not on this scale through so many products and games. Sony bought the best company doing it for that reason.
I personally think ps+ is an amazing deal, it saves me money because instead of buying games I just download what comes out on plus. You make it sound like every time something comes out to buy you are forced to purchase it... If it works for you financially do it, if not don't!

No it's not as high selling a game as other sports games, but it is still a very high quality franchise based off of a popular sport that does have many fans. It is a feather in the cap for Sony.

Well the PS4 is the next gen machine to have and playstation now is already so potent in the minds of consumers gamestop's stock dropped. Sony's tv service is also getting much attention by consumers. Both PS now and their tv service will be united and useable across all their hardware as well, which is something that people take note of to drive all parts of their business. Sony is making the best moves for their future, very smart on their part.
