So no company should work on any next gen games right now either because of the limited market they have? one console being more limited than the other...
more countries doesn't = more units to sell. Sony just wanted to be first in those places, but it spread them thin. They are still doing great though, despite the shortage of units available in major territories.
And now indie devs are finally being treated well.
^ things can get a bit pricy when you start talking "super HD"
1080p is good for now.
Yes Ms was the first to popularize online gaming on consoles, but it would have happened soon eventually because of how insanely popular indies and online gaming was on the PC. I thank Sony for taking risks with first party studios and bringing the best new and most powerful hardware tech to the console market every release so cool new games could be made, Nintendo for just being Nintendo and MS for popularizing online gameplay sooner than it would have if they didn't. Many attempts at it...
Agreed, not Sony's, in fact they are independent.
The problem with the ps3 was that Sony put in a processor that nobody knew how to program for, just because they wanted to push the tech (same thing with blu ray). Basically the ps3 was $200 more than the competition for a while because they wanted blu ray to win and the processor to be made more. It was a mistake in a way (even though it allowed blu ray to win) because major devs voiced their frustration at them about the processor and consumers had to pay so much. Which in turn Sony said to...
@Klad
Actually native resolution does matter to the experience, It doesn't make someone a "graphix whore" to think that. That said I love good games regardless if they are HD or not.
Yeah he pretty much ragged on every single tiny part of the game, even saying it isn't fun gameplay (which was my favorite thing about the game). And basically with that title he is saying that everyones is wrong who has the opinion that it is the game of the year... I think it is the game of the gen, I guess I am way out there.
@ThePope
All the money in the world wouldn't make the xbox division better than sony's or Nintendo's. And neither of them would ever sell to Micro$oft, period.
@fendernow
And every article negative about MS is written by a fanboy trying to destroy Microsoft. This site was made because they wanted there to be a conspiracy against MS, so they hired tons of people to pretend to like sony and swarm the internet and N4G.
^
Yeah that made up for a $200 launch price difference for sure :/
Yes, but while MS has deep pockets that could go really fast if they can't make a windows that people like again. Just because a company could hypothetically buy another doesn't make them a better company. I hope they have a lot of money to support the xbox division, it loses billions.
Sony reported earnings instead of a loss didn't they, that's pretty huge regardless of how they did it. They are selling what they need to and organizing what they want to keep, they are doing great things right now.
Tell me this like 5 years ago and I may have considered it a bit more.
@Death
I know they started selling more when they dropped the price for the ps3, but it always outsold the 360 monthly since launch, check any data you wish to find that. I assume NPD still has the figures. It was always more expensive and always outsold the 360, any data on any site will show you that. It's not a secret.
The esram is a very tiny amount used for small things, like some AI and texture and such, when it is programed correctly. It was put in...
Conclusive data? Seriously? Where did you get your info of it being $399 and $299 at launch? On the same site you can probable see that the ps3 was $499 and $599 at launch, and that was a year later. Yes the prices are more comparable now with the 360 having $199 and $299 consoles and the ps3 having $249 and $319.95 available.
The ps3 was always more expensive, with the launch consoles being up to $200 more. Still outselling the 360 every month worldwide since launch with tha...
Congrats to Nintendo, they are doing great.
I have a question, how can the PS4 be ahead of other products that are in stock, but the PS4 is sold out on Amazon US? Why don't they take it off the top sellers, or why doesn't it start dipping below other products currently in stock? I don't understand how it works.
It's interesting that twinspectre is marked for trolling and yet xboner and many other ms trolls don't get bubbled down for it. Double standards on this site.
If Microsoft thought they could sell as much as Sony by being in more territories they would be... They are trying to keep a large stock in the major territories right now, Sony just happens to outsell them in every country they are both in. Sony is actually taking a risk by spreading themselves thin. It was an amazing week for Sony, I am even a little surprised they are doing so well.
