For someone who was only boasting last year about studying for a diploma in economics, your very adept at using the wrong figures. Microsoft are at 17.5m. Your numbers are out by nearly 1.5m. The PS3 is now at 10.5m, so the difference is actually only 7.0m, not 9m.

Come this spring in Europe and other regions, the PS3 will reach its one year anniversary, and probably be at about 11m units. Take off the sales for USA and Japan in nov/dec of 2006 and your at about 10m units approx ...

Talk about manipulating the facts to make your case. Its a shame you can't reply, I'd like to see how you try and twist the facts again.

No, I didn't miss the first line of your argument. The 360's first year of sales was 2006 (i'm ignoring that at your request). Your comparing the 360's 2007 year of sales with PS3's 2007 year of sales. Hell, you even showed a graph to make that clear......lol.

Second, I know these are not your figures, it's the way your trying t...

@4.0 Kill Crow

Your showing yourself to be a fool if you continue along this line. You obviously don't know how to read a graph. All that chart is showing is that as of Jan 2007, the 360 started of on 8.5M units, because it had been on sale for 14 months globally. The PS3 started of at the same time frame on 1.5M units (sales in Japan + America for 2 months since launch). Overlay those two lines on the graph for the true comparison (a slight spike in sales in march for the euro...

The 360 sold more consoles in the same time frame?

No, we don't have all the figures in yet. You compare the 360 selling globally for the whole of 2007, to the PS3 that only sold for that same time period in Japan and America, Europe only for 9 months.

Better wait for the end of march for the European/Australia figures to come in that cover that 3 month period. Its possible that another 1.4M units could be sold for that 3 months, that would bring the PS3 on par with ...

Sorry, didn't think the comment actually sounded like a negative jibe towards Nintendo, it certainly wasn't aimed to sound that way. Even though the Wii for me isn't a console I'd buy, I know a few people who do own it, and they enjoy it. Nintendo have expanded the demographic of games players because of it, a work colleague of age 60 owns it, and now shares a common interest of games with me. For that reason alone, I hope that train is on one hell of a long journey.

predicted it expected to ship more than 10 million Xbox 360 consoles to retailers by the end of calendar 2006, which they did, but as a quote from a Microsoft spokeswoman at the time stated:

"This holiday, we expect to have sold in excess of 10 million units worldwide," Dec 2006.

They didn't sell that many. companies predict, (i.e. educated guess) of what they think they'll sell. Sometimes they have to adjust their forecasts. Sony are no different. By march...

And they clearly said at the beginning of this video "the power of the next gen systems has allowed us to integrate 3 very complex simulation technologies." No mention was made I far as I'm aware, what system this is being shown on, I didn't see any 360 or PS3 tucked away in the corner of the screen to give any indication if was running on "said console", other than the PC work stations that its being developed on.

It will hopefully live up to expectations, ...

Let me repeat myself just so that you take this in:

“I can’t speak for other PS3 owners, but I’ve got about 20 games, and most PS3 owners I know have somewhere in the region of 10 to 20 games”, that’s my personal experience, its not stating every PS3 owner has that number of games! And, “why the attach rate is as low as it is for the PS3 is a slight mystery, but with a larger game library that 2008 will bring, things should see improvements in that area.”

What on...

I can’t speak for other PS3 owners, but I’ve got about 20 games, and most PS3 owners I know have somewhere in the region of 10 to 20 games. It’s no secret that 2007 for the PS3 saw a slow release of games, but the frequency of releases is improving, and its looking like a better 2008 for PS3 than 360. Now the 360 has a greater number of games in its library, its been out twice as long, so what do you expect. Hence why the attach rate for the 360 is higher, why the attach rate is as low as it...

Actually Mart, using just the NA figures for the last week, the 360 is only selling to a ratio 1.6:1 in hardware, thought you would of realized that, but considering how you like to manipulate figures, I guess your above post isn't a surprise.

Plain english for you, for every 8 units that microsoft sells in NA, Sony sells 5 units.

If you take last weeks global figures, the PS3 is selling at 1.35:1 ratio against the 360.

Plain english for you, for e...

Since when did 50k doubled equal 81k, your pathetic. By the way the phrasing of "at least", means the minimum. Where as you've just clearly exaggerated the figures. Link below for that post.

And while your in the mood for stating figures, how about the one that PS3 is still beating the 360 in global sales each week, the USA isn't the only country in the world you know. Get a life you troll, you need to get out more and experience the real world, not just the one in yo...

Last week Global sales at:

xbox 360 = 207k
PS3 = 281k

Approx sales including Japan (using last week Japan sales as an approximation)
(Last week the sales in Japan, xbox 360 = 12k, the PS3 = 74K)

xbox 360: 128k + 12k = 140k
PS3: 111k + 74k = 185k

There are countries outside of the USA you know, global sales are what counts. So, its, "Check to Sony"

And the Wii is beating both Mi...

"It's pretty much official. The 360 has beaten the ps3 in the next gen race. The ps3 has no chance on catching up. Plus they're still destroying both the Wii and the ps3 in software sales!

Good job Microsoft. You did it"

they say imitation is the best form of flattery. You made reference to me the first few times you posted this, but if your gonna keep quoting me, please at least give a link to the original post, thx very much. Also, just my opinion, but if you keep quoting the same thing over and over again, in such quick succession, people think you start to sound like a broken record and won't listen anymore.

On a separate note, to all, how come LanRanger gets a disagree for stating that Sal...

Ah, sorry, yeah understand where your coming from now. Yeah, nothing quite like an exaggerated accent. I'm part Scot myself, even though I don't have the accent, been raised in the south of england all my life. But my Scottish relatives, well they hate it when someone tries to pull of the accent and do it badly. Just like when american actors try and do an english accent and do it badly, but then I find that funny, for a short time.

er, the proclaimers are scottish. So are you saying that it sounded like a Scot trying to put on a Scots accent, because that just doesn't make any sense.

And is it just me or was it really weird that the oringal film used a frenchman to play a Scot, but then used a Scot (connery) to play a spanish immortal?

But yeah, the first film, which i'm a big fan of was great, not so keen on the sequels, but always thought that it could be the grounds for one hell of a gam...

this side of the site. All the positive news that’s been going the PS3’s way, and surprise, surprise, your appearance here is light on the ground. We can all read into that what we will, but I think most of us here can work at the reason all too well, regardless of any excuse you come up with, but, to the article in question.

Your correct, (can’t believe I’m going to actually agree with you on something), but the article in question isn’t really from any credible source. But, ...
