Anthem is a sinking ship; it has a very slim (if any) chance of recovering. New consoles will be coming in less than two years and several competing (and likely better) shooters are launching within the next six months.
Autism follows a wide spectrum. People with high functioning autism or Aspergers may not be negatively affected by their disorder when it comes to playing video games. I know autistic individuals who excel at video games including Doom (which was mentioned in the article). However, the high functioning autistics and Aspergers individuals that I know tend to aggressively tune-out the surrounding world when they game.
I wouldn’t call the Metroid Prime games realistic looking for the most part. Helmet-less Samus at the end of Prime 1 had an oddly realistic face model, yet her armour looked very stylized. In the later prime games Samus and other characters without armour look semi-anime in my opinion.
What Nintendo franchise has realistic graphics? Stylized ‘cartoon’ and cel-shaded graphics are something I have a soft spot for.
I own base models of the Xbox One,PS4 and I even have a Wii U. I haven’t gotten a switch yet due to the high pricing in Canada and the lack of sales for the console and it games. Also, Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 are still a few years away.
By being an owner of multiple consoles I am not negatively affected by exclusivity. Plus, I have flexibility when it comes to purchasing games.
Why are people expecting Microsoft owned games to readily come to the Switch? Hellblade, was already multi-platform before MS bough Ninja Theory. Mine craft was also multi-platform before it and Mojang were purchased by MS. Additionally, Cuphead isn’t owned by Microsoft. Cuphead was partially funded by MS, hence it was a console exclusive for over a year. Lastly, current gen Forza, Halo, Gears (and whatever MS maybe producing ) would likely run into technical issues on the Switch and be diff...
My biggest worry would be the game's dev-time. For a game that is releasing in November not much (if any) actual gameplay has been shown.
This MS-Nintendo “team-up” is in my opinion nothing more than “journalists” spinning information and making unsubstantiated predictions.
I personally feel the Timesplitters and Perfect Dark games have underrated soundtracks.
Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 were announced way too early. The two previously mentioned titles are the games that would make me take the plunge and buy a Switch.
Dragons Dogma is not particularly visually impressive game; it looked dated even when it first released on 360 & PS3. The remastered version of Dragons Dogma is nothing to write home about in terms of visuals also.
This isn’t a tease, it’s a response to a question.
Activision is 5th only overall, they’re only behind much larger companies. Yet, Activision still laid off hundreds of staff, despite record profits...
Free for all ?
343i has denied Battle Royale for Halo Infinite multiple times. I don’t think 343i is interested in developing a Battle Royale, as they stated that fans can make the mode via forge multiple times. I think Battle Royale as mode will be on the decline soon. The most successful Battle Royale titles are free to play.
I see two big red flags for the game that I think imply a shorter than expected (or needed) dev time. Firstly, Fallen Order was announced last year and nothing was shown. And as you pointed out, no gameplay was shown during fallen order’s reveal trailer, despite it having a fall release date.
Downgrades should be expected. The Switch versions of Wolfenstein 2, Doom (2016) and Crash N-Sane Trilogy showed that visually demanded games need to be heavily downgraded to run of the system.
I'm pretty sure even Microsoft isn't pleased with Crackdown 3 either, as they went silent on it.
Halo 5 and Halo: MMC would likely not run too well on the Switch, lol.
Funny thing is, if my memory serves me currently, Destiny received a lot more gameplay related criticism than Halo 4 & 5.
