Incorporating Last of Us Part 2’s gameplay into Part 1 would likely require complete redesign or significant expansion of the original levels. Not to mention changing the AI systems and rebalancing weapons.
Awesome news. I just started collecting figures and statues of game characters.
edit: Anyone know if Spin Masters figures are comparable to those produced by Neca and McFarlane?
With Last of Us Part 1 being a remake, you would think the first thing shown would be gameplay? So far we have only seen cutscenes and cinematic shots. If the changes in gameplay are selling point. Why not show the new gameplay mechanics from the get go?
A lack of space travel in science fiction is not subversive. Plenty of science fiction games don’t feature space or space travel as a major plot point. Good examples include: Resistance, Gears of War, Fallout, Deus Ex and Cyberpunk.

Sales numbers given by Day Gone’s we’re not officially supported by Sony. The sales numbers in question also appear to be inaccurate. If Sony was pleased by Day Gone’s sales company would have official announced them.
Days Gone didn’t perform as well as Ghost of Tsushima. Days Gone had early price drops and relied on discounts to sell. Ghost of Tsushima had strong sales from launch. Early full-priced sales are very important for publishers when it comes to accessing the performance of their titles.
I typically avoid NPC summons. However, I have been using Ashes of War summons frequently. Some of the Ashes of War summons are overpowered, I watched my mimic tear solo a boss. The boss in question could kill my level 100 character in 2-3 hits and was surrounded by a toxic lake with nasty status effect.
People need to better understand what a dead game actually is. Also, gamers should stop being so entitled.
Sony had high return on investment when they ported 1st party titles to PC. You also have to keep in mind, Sony at its core is an electronics manufacturer. The days when Sony dominated TV, speakers, etc. are over. However, their electronics are generally well made. So there is a cause that Sony could establish its as leader in gaming gear. Sony is a leading company in gaming overall, PC gaming gear would just future expand the company’s presence in the gaming industry.
Nintendo relies on 1st-party earnings more than the other platforms holders. As a company, Ninentdo seems to expect very high attach rates and profit margins from their releases. Hence, Mario spin-offs and Pokémon get frequent releases. While mainline Mario, Zelda, and Smash releases are near guaranteed every Nintendo console generation.
“Niche” titles like F-zero probably wouldn’t meet Nintendo sales and profit expectations. I personally fear that Metroid Dread’s ~ 3...
Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 are my two favourite souls game. However, I didn’t play the series in order. Elden Ring boss fights aren’t as enjoyable or rewarding as those in the other Soulsborne titles that I enjoyed.
In my opinion the bosses in Elden Ring aren’t as well designed or balanced as the ones present in Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3. I haven’t finished Elden Ring yet. I play as melee, which has at times been frustrating. The bosses are hyper aggressive. They also do high damage and many of them have AoE attacks. While watching guides, I noticed that the bosses seem to be designed around summons. Furthermore, Elden Ring seems to be balanced in favour of magic users.
I sometimes question whether or not the so called “ports” are actually necessary or not. And are these really true ports ? The current consoles are very compatible with their predecessors.
Biomutant is already playable on the Series S/X and PS5. It really isn’t “coming to” either system.
Microsoft has been gradually rebooting Rare IPs. I wouldn’t be surprised if MS announces another Rare IP reboot after Perfect Dark release in 2023-2024. Based on popularity you would think Banjo, Viva Piñata and Conker would be the next likely candidates for rebooting [or a new release].
Company’s usually have standard benefits package. So Bethesda [ and in the future Activision-Blizzard] employees should get the same benefits as existing MS staff.
Complaining about video games is a first world problem. Playing AAA games is luxury. A minority, of overly vocal, obnoxious, entitled gamers need to understand that the devs don’t work for them.
Basically MS is testing a more optimized and enhanced port of Quake 4. I wonder if Quake 4 will also be added to The Xbox backwards compatibility program [assuming the program resumes]?
The provided data linked in this article is contradicted by another article from May. https://www.gamesindustry.b... The link I provided shows Tencent and Sony outperforming Apple in game revenues. Apple was third followed by MS.
I stand my earlier statement on different article. If new gameplay mechanics where to be a major selling point. You would think the devs would have highlighted and shown said features immediately.
