They picked 10 from each console network. Trouble is, they include multiplatform games and retro games. They should have simply had a 4th and 5th list with 10 multiplatform and 10 retro, or just not force 10 from each system.. just list the 30 best, period, regardless of how evenly spread out they are.
I was a bit surprised Castle Crashers and Bionic Commando Rearmed didn't make it into either the PS3 or 360 list. Comet Crash, Wipeout HD, Shatter, and Joe Danger are gla...
coming from a non-shooter, non-cod fan, this video is full of win.
20/10
Nah.. he's anything but typical. A typical gamer would look at the ps3 2011 list and spooge in their pants. Yes, even pc gamers ( like myself) and Xbox gamers who are sure to switch over in droves soon enough.
*except* ffxiii??
2010 sure made me poor...
I haven't played smg2 but I'm sure it's better than nearly everything this year, based on my time with the first and the glowing praise 2 got.
I liked Bayonetta but you're right, where the hell was Heavy Rain?
Splinter cell is also for pc. Things cannot be multiplatform and exclusive simultaneously.
Funny, they snub these games and insert the critical flop in White Knight chronicles!
Pixel Junk Shooter is a PSN game so you can knock that down to $1150
Also I bet most of those games can be preordered with a $10-20 credit from Amazon or Walmart... which could dip the grand total under $1000! Joy!
PS3 FANS are less concerned about graphics than you think. Of course, graphics are important. But gameplay and presentation in PS3 exclusives is what makes PS3 FANS most happy.
I play PC games too but I still find PS3 and Nintendo exclusives to be among the most compelling games out there. Perhaps if I was more into strategy games or MMOs I would feel differently. PC elitists are the ones who feel like they need to constantly remind everyone how out of date console tech is...

The list itself.
My god is that picture hilarious!
Sure, it would be nice if exclusives didn't exist and there was only one system to choose from. But that isn't the way the business works and exclusives are here to stay like they always have. Most gamers don't have budgets for three systems so the most important criteria should usually come down to the lowest common denominator: which system offers the most compelling game library? At this point, and especially at the end of next year, that ought to be a no-brainer.
Good list, but some inexcusable absences. SMG2 for starters. Pikmin 2 as well. Eternal darkness. Mariokart DS and double dash are better than the original. Same could be said for paper mario ttyd. And how about super Mario RPG? F-zero gx.. no Kirby representation either.
Exclusives are all that should matter to gamers. **** the sales pissing contest. I could care less about which unit sells more, and so should every other gamer out there.
Goodbye piracy? Highly doubtful.
Goodbye 100+ games on one cartridge, sure.
It's a fun game. It's far from perfect, but fun. A 4 is a really unfair score imo. It's more like a 7.

"Absolutely ****ing Nothing"
Morgan Webb hates Mario games if memory serves.
Echoing everyone else... these lists are ****ing awful... some of the worst I've ever seen. Even the vgas aren't quite this terrible.
I just might have to.
Maybe I'll give it another try. I played it for a couple hours and lost interest.
