VI gets plenty of attention. The three FF games that get the most love are VI, VII, and X. One for each of the last three gens.
If there is any FF game that doesn't get enough attention it's IX.
VII isn't even the best of the PSX games. IX is.
IV might be my personal favorite. I don't consider it the best, though.. just my favorite for nostalgic reasons I suppose. It was the first FF game I played and I've beaten it far more times than any other FF game.
I can't agree more. And this is coming from someone who only owns a ps3 and gaming pc. I still think Nintendo makes the best 1st party titles.

Mario galaxy is the best as both games are in the top 3 critically acclaimed alltime. Mass effect has an amazing story and memorable characters but smg has unmatched gameplay and level design.

I have no problem with ME2 getting top honors. Red Dead in the 2-spot is cool with me as well.
But where the hell is Mario Galaxy 2? It shouldn't be any further down from 3rd. Why the crap is Alan Wake 3rd? Why is it even in the list at all?
It should be but won't be. Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption will probably have just as many GotY honors.

I've played a tonne of DS games and I have to say there are quite a few that I enjoyed more than a lot of the console games I've played this gen.
Regarding this list, I've played all but inazuma 11. I thought TWEWY was a game most self-proclaimed gamers have played. And hotel dusk is must for any adventure game fan.

I can't agree. Compared to other years, this was a pretty good year for PSP, and a below average year for DS. Both systems have had better years, especially DS, which had probably its worst year since 2005. Its perfectly excusable though, considering how most developers (especially Nintendo) are turning their attention and efforts towards the 3DS. Just a few more months....

Shadow Complex is amazing. It certainly set the bar for the $15 price tier imo... it saddens me when games come out for that price and aren't even one tenth the game SC is.
Splosion Man is probably my 2nd fav XBLA exclusive game after SC. Soooo much fun to play, single, 2-player, and 4-player is a riot.

I loved VIII. I think some things people didn't like were the draw system and GF tedium. One of my friends hated the fact that if he used magic on certain characters, their stats would decrease.
7-9 are all great games. IMO, 9>8>7
