Where did I say casual gaming started with the Wii or that anyone thought it did?

I said the runaway success of the Wii, keyword success, which can be directly attributed to the casual crowd or non-core gamers, is what seems to be driving Sony fanboys into their sudden displeasure with that particular demographic. No one had a problem with casual games/gamers but now that they are a force to be reckoned with and have brought the Wii so much success, it has them all bothered ...

OK, I'll bite.

How can you say the fanboys here have nothing to show the PS3 is worth owning? Sure, they talk a lot of smack about other systems (xbox = no games, nintendo = rehash/kiddie) but they loooove bringing up all the exclsuives the PS3 has, especially when looking at 2011.

I don't think Sony fans are at all threatened, or hurt, by the success of the Wii. A better word would be disgust. The Wii has only helped solidify their disdain for cas...

They will, just not until the week it releases.

Did you notice it's a 360 site?

5493d ago 31 agree6 disagreeView comment

That's also because most of the time the game was lead on 360 and ported to PS3. The paradigm has shifted and now many games are being led on PS3 and ported to 360 which apparently leads to a lot fewer complications, Dead Space 2 (and pretty much every EA game from here on out if it is not on PC) is a good example of that.

And speaking of Dead Space.... Free Extraction is all I have to say.

I guess they didn't see Nintendo dominating as "great news". Great news, crap news, either way, it shouldn't come to a surprise to anyone that has ever had one half open eye on the monthly charts for the last 5 years.

Nope, like I said, homefront isn't really on my radar so HHG or not I took the opportunity to learn some more about it. First HHG show I've watched in close to a year.

For $15 the game needs to be exceptional. Shadow Complex and World of Goo are two such games that come to mind that worth well worth $15. Dead Nation might be, I haven't played it but it's had a lot of mixed reviews.

Games like Deathspank, Hoard, and Costume Quest, while fun, are not worth that price.

BCR is a great game, but imo not quite worthy of that $15 tier. And wasn't the first one originally $10? I could be wrong. I know I picked it u...

Seriously guys? It's so damn easy to spot a HHG headline. You all need to develop a more discerning eye for them.

Homefront isn't really on my radar right now with everything else coming out this year, but I hope it's amazing nonetheless. Always nice to have a surprise AAA on our hands.

AA was a 2009 game. GotY ed came out last year though, iirc.

Can't wait for this game... among countless others releasing this year.

Devil Survivor is an excellent game too... both very different though, I'm not sure there is anything out there that can be adequately compared to TWEWY.

Also thought the story in TWEWY was quite good, although it does take awhile for it to get interesting. Calling it "poo" is pretty harsh.

You're seriously trying to compare super fucking expensive 3D TVs with ridiculous glasses (also super fucking expensive) to an affordable, glasses free 3D Nintendo handheld?

Typical Nintendo hater.

nalyd you are fucking mad with delirium.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as excited for NGP as every other Sony fanboy on this site. Is that what you meant? It appeals to way more people on N4G? Wow, what a fucking surprise that is.

3DS is going to anally rape the NGP when it comes to sales.

By the way I'm looking forward to both, they will both have great games and graphics.

It really annoys me how "hardcore" gamers think for some reason they are more important than casual gamers when they only make up probably less than 10% of both combined.

I prefer to not label myself casual or hardcore. I'm a gaming enthusiast. I love fun, well constructed games from every genre and classification whether it's Cut the Rope and Plants vs Zombies or Bayonetta and Oblivion.

You're going to find pleeeeenty of casual and co...

Underrated? By whom? It has gotten great marks from most publications. Has close to a 90 average iirc.

Overlooked, oh most definitely. This game did not sell nearly as well as it should have. Its easily in my top 5 DS games.

Me too, I can't believe no one else is commenting about it.

Anyone know what undergarden is all about?

Well said. Nintendo is synonymous with video games.

This isn't about needs, its about wanting an experience. Rehashes or not Nintendo creates wonderful gaming experiences that the world keeps buying up.

I was born in 84 too but I love Nintendo games.

I finally just started galaxy 2.. what an amazing game. If you have a hard time enjoying a masterpiece such as this you are no gamer in my mind, just a fool.

That's what people need to understand here. NGP is not going to succeed as a mass market device. It's catering to a niche of core gamers, and though it's probably going to try to attract more of the mainstream, it won't succeed there because of the price barrier.

A lot of people here (sony fanboys.. which makes me sad, because I kind of am one myself) are totally underestimating the kind of mass market appeal the 3DS will fervently create once people get the...
