People have the balls to say Nintendo doesnt make great games a week after the sublime Fire Emblem Awakening is released.
Tsk tsk.
I never got the memo
You're wrong about that. The mass market might not be as clued in to the industry and all the AAA games that get released but they can certainly tell the difference between angry birds and Super Mario Galaxy.
If there is a developer out there that continues to resonate with the mass market its Nintendo, and its why many of their flagship series go on to sell millions. The Wii sold over 800 million games, four times as much as the gamecube, so you can't attribute tha...
I think its the core crowd who is ignorant. Mass market could give two shits about specs. All they want is a great user experience and fun games, and that is what Nintendo delivers for all of its systems regardless of horsepower.
It's the same strategy Apple employs. The iPhone 5 is hardly the most impressive device on the market but the people buying it don't care about that. It's a device that stands on its own and doesn't need the fastest processor or h...
Honestly it really just comes down to software. I don't care how powerful the next Xbox or PS4 is, I won't buy one until there are compelling game experiences I'm interested in (and the same goes for the Wii U.)
With that said, I know I will eventually get a Wii U as I am a enthusiast of Nintendo games, and one other system, as has been the case this gen and last. But it will probably be at least a year or two into their life-cycles before I make the leap.
I think we all know next-gen has nothing to do with hardware
(it's about product life-cycles.. aka we are entering a new generation of product life-cycles.)
Damn skippy it is
Newegg secured roughly 15 preorders from me thanks to $15 off promo they ran awhile back (usually they do $10 off).
And hey, I won't complain about free shipping, no tax, and release day delivery either.
Amazon is great for games aleady released but their preorder deals are a shadow of their former greatness. Instead of $10-20 credits we get exclusive dlc.
How many can say this while backing it up like ND
because that strategy worked so well last time
awfully awesome, you mean.
2013 is going to be amazing. Love getting a game of this caliber so early in the year.
Shatters? Nintendo's products are still predominantly viewed as a family friendly, no matter how many violent games might make its way to the system. That is the continuous message of their advertising, and when people think of Nintendo they conjure up images of lovable Nintendo characters from Nintendo games, not 3rd party gorefests like Ninja Gaiden or Killer 7 which the casual crowd, moms and dads hardly are even aware of.
Hard to say who will come out on top next gen but supposing the systems are evenly powered (or close) and priced similarly, I think Sony will have a better start. Although its taken some time this gen, I think Sony has won over (won back, really) the hearts of the better part of the core gaming crowd, and next gen these early adopters will choose Sony over MS. Early adopters are also generally opinion leaders among their peers influencing later adopters purchasing decisions. The ball reall...
Believe it or not it's actually true and the metagame is insanely competitive.
It's true people hate what they don't understand.
Q. In what world would Nintendo take a loss from putting out a Pokemon game?
A. Make-believe land
most definitely commercial suicide. Consumers won't understand why this would happen and the word will spread quickly. Unless its an across the industry move it would be utterly stupid to do such a thing.
If they really want to stop second hand sales, then move to digital only.
I had played so much Halo 2 by that point I was over it. Same thing with GTA3. Played so much GTA3 that I couldn't get into any of them after that.
And that all could have been avoided by a little something called save and reload. Not sayin, just sayin.
Finally? It's been desirable since the price drop, at least, and if not then, then the XL would suffice.
