That's still one expensive brick...

Over the last few years I've seen precious little information about this game
Too Human
Wait, this is STILL in d...
When this was first announced I was really hoping it was going to be a remake of Golden Axe 1.
I was hoping for a third person action game that drew in some RPG elements and exploration, as well as some hack and slash combat goodness.
I can't tell you how disappointed I was when I saw.... that.
I'm far from Microsoft's biggest fan (in fact I can't wait for the company to start falling apart).
But I've got to give them kudos for giving people what they want.
Shame I don't have an Xbox or live in the US, otherwise I'd be downloading the episodes as soon as they were available.
(Hint: You listening, Sony?)
Oh... And zonetrooper5, what kind of tight arse are you? You're looking at a couple of dollars per HD episode; that's not a lot of...
You should see the distressed look on the Nintendian town dweller's faces when the Piracy Computer Ship slinks out of the early morning fog and in to harbor.
It then drops anchor and dozens of its little silicon crew scuttle to shore to steal their precious ROMs, robbing the terrified folk of their livelihood to add to their own ill gained riches..!
Wow... A service that generates half a billion in annual revenue and they cannot keep it running smoothly? What's going on?!
In case anyone is wondering how I came up with the above number,
Microsoft recently said they have 11 million subscribers to Xbox Live.
Every subscription is at least $50 (in the UK it's more like $80)
$50 by 11 million is $550,000,000. That's over half a billion.
Clearly that money is not going on hardware.
Microsoft has claimed that this is due to server strain.
Let's get one thing straight - They recently said that 10 million people are subscribing to the service. At $50 per year (£40 in the UK, I think?) that's an annual income of over $50 million. That is not exactly a small sum of cash.
One has to question how they are investing this money, because it's clearly not going on improving the servers, whether it be hardware or software updates.

What I don't get is why things like the Playstation Store and Account Management are done by, what is essentially, a web site...?
Why don't these things integrate with the XMB..?
Whenever you log in to the network it needs only to silently download store updates using XML, with data such as images and details being done on demand and cached. Not only would this be neater and faster, but it would make the store much faster to navigate and make the whole experience...
... I'm looking forward to chucking that spiky frisbee of his at the baddies :)
Got my copy pre-ordered at Play.com... :D
"You guys do realize 28 and 100mb dl speeds are coming this yr from AT&T and Comcast."
No, and I don't give a damn because,
1) I don't live in America
2) I don't live in America
and
3) I don't live in America
People like you must start realising that there are other countries outside of your own and that a considerable number of these are either not broadband enabled or are restricted to speeds of ...
"but will instead be won by downloads direct to hard disks"
I can't wait to download 25GB+ of data over my average 2MB broadband connection...
Thanks, but I'd rather buy a disc so I take films around to my friend's places, instead of the entire sodding machine.
... was sh*t.
I'm sorry, but it was. Burnout 2 was the best game in the series. Burnout 3 would have been if it weren't for the implementation of the AI rubber band catch up thing. That just ruined it.
Why have they turned this great series in to a free roaming racer?! What was wrong with the standard formula of Burnout 1, 2 and 3?!
And for the love of God, get rid of the f*cking DJ! This is a sodding racing game! Stop trying to make it extra Hip a...
... for Blu Ray supporters.
This is a very VERY stupid thing for the hackers to do.
Word of this will spread all over the net and to the media industry. It will make anyway who might be considering moving away from HD-DVD even more reason to do so. They won't want to be associated with this kind of action.
I think it's fair to say this about Killzone 1,
1) It was certainly not the best game ever
2) It wasn't what Sony / Press / Hype promised
3) Whilst it wasn't any of the above it was an above average shooter and better than a lot of other shooters on the PS2 (of which, there were loads)
4) The franchise has a lot of potential
Gamingisfornerds - You serious? You can do that? But how long before you get caught out..? Surely you can't just keep doing it over and over?
Was hoping for this two to turn up either Spring or early Summer...
There again if it means they have time to optimise these games then, furry muff I guess.
Sort of works for me anyway since I only have time to play one game at a time these days... :|
Would someone be kind enough to give detailed impressions of the demo for Xbox Live Silver user, who will have to wait till next week to enjoy this... ;)
EA should consider releasing a demo on to PSN for people to try out.
Of course, that could be a double edged sword.
They could release a demo of a level that runs really well, luring gamers in to believing the game doesn't have the problems it's claimed to be plagued by.
On the other hand they could release an honest what-you-play-is-what-you'll-g et demo and see sales do even worse than it seems they're already going to be.
That asi...
No offence to the PC gamers, because I used to be one, but when you look at the specs of a PC vs that of a PS3 or an Xbox, you do have to wonder.
Yes, consoles have specialised hardware for running games, and don't have the overhead of a massive OS, but still... it's a bit much.
