I've never watched E.T. but I did see that South Park episode with George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.
Games with Kinect are not immersive because there is no force-feedback of any kind. MS even put rumble in the triggers for the new controller to heighten the experience. Until we get holodeck/lawnmower man technology then people will continue to use controllers.
Good exposure for Liverpool Fc.
The camera setup to scan the players faces looks expensive but what I would like to know is how the Kinect 2.0 is going to be able to scan anyone else's face to that kind of detail for future games?
Although MS have delayed launching in Japan, I think it would be wise for Sony to take advantage of that head start especially with JRPG's.
I enjoyed the original and the TV series. I hope this doesn't end up like the Total Recall remake though.
Does anyone think that Microsoft could eventually move away from gaming to concentrate on TV and multimedia?
MS are launching the Xbox One with some very big games like Titanfall and Dead Rising 3, but how long will this last even with the large investment?
Your neighbours step-aunt must be a really popular camwhore, amirite?
This sounds like it could be a Kinect 2.0 game for the Japanese market. May just happen now that you can self-publish on the One.
I don't think MS will drop the price, and why should they. With the changes they are announcing regarding self-publishing and the more we see of the launch titles etc, more people will be interested in buying the Xbox One. I don't think there will be huge numbers of people jumping ship to PS4, rather it will be neck and neck for sales.
On this site for instance, there appears to be a lot of people buying the One or both consoles. Sure, N4G is not the real world, but MS knows ...
It's a great idea for sure. But would MS charge for it?
MS have not used the slogan from the original Kinect 'You are the controller" for the Kinect 2.0 but I think the best games using the device will be the ones that only rely on gestures and voice. I think this will give the most immersive experience for the player. Imagine that with Oculus Rift or illumiroom. The only aspect missing will be any kind of force-feedback.
I was hoping that next-gen games would be priced the same as current gen games. Does this mean Special Editions and the like increase by £10+ as well?
I think the PS4, Xbox One and WiiU will see more creative efforts from developers, and introduce a lot of gamers to the kinds of games that PC owners have been experiencing for quite some time. I know the 360 and PS4 had a number of indie games released, but with the extra effort by the console makers to attract indie developers, we'll all be able to enjoy some great games.
I want my next console after the PS4 to be a Holodeck.
The Xbox One has a decent list of exclusives promised for the first year (if you like those kinds of games) but how long do they intend to keep up that kind of commitment? The 360 and Xbox before that seemed to lose support for major exclusives quickly, though multi-platform titles continued to support the large install base. Could this happen again with the Xbox One and how long do we expect this incoming generation to last?
I have no doubt Microsoft will still be able to attract indie developers simply because the developers themselves will want to put it out on as many platforms as they can, and MS knows it cannot afford to ignore indie titles especially if they are popular.
The tech sounds cool, but personally I wouldn't want to have an avatar of myself in a game like Dark Souls or COD where I'd be killed constantly. Seeing that would be too much.
I'm intrigued by the heart-rate and body mass stuff. Imagine if these real world stats could be applied in the players avatar? Character models would be all shapes and sizes, but the fitness levels would be terrible.
That sounds like really cool stuff. If it can map my BMI does that mean my in-game character will mimic my fitness level as well? Could be interesting for future games.
Being a next-gen racer, I hope that the finished product will have a good selection of tracks and cars, damage and weather effects. Graphics-wise it should look next-gen but it is early days yet and perhaps Drive Club 2 will achieve the 1080p 60fps target along with the graphics. The pressure is on the developers and Sony to produce a launch racing title to rival Forza 5. We'll find out when it it launches with the PS4.
Um. Who is Keaton?
