"I swear, people around here seem to be oblivious to the fact that the PS3 or 360 fans aren't some massive homogenous horde that all repeat the exact same things. There's hundreds of people on this website, each with different opinions. "
Best comment ever.
"Only" 128mb of VRAM? You guys kidding me? The resolution is only 960x544. You probably wouldn't need much more VRAM than that.
As for system RAM, 512mb is the same as an Xbox360...
Those specs will definitely last a LONG LONG time. And look at the PSP for example, only 333mhz single core processor with 32mb of system RAM yet they were making games like God of War: COO.
Handhelds are always going to be more utilized for every la...
I don't know about you guys, but I don't think what I do in video games actually reflect who I am in real life.
For example, I play God of War to rip some heads off and kill gods.
You won't catch me doing that in real life.
All jokes aside, let's not forget that everyone has different approaches to playing a video game. Some people shot everyone up in No Russian while others didn't fire a single bullet.
Yeah it's just the game itself was a let down. I hated the rear spawning enemies.
Call me crazy, but even for my PC I still haven't invested in an SSD. I'm still waiting for that magical price/GB ratio until I take the jump. It worked out pretty well for me with DD3 memory to play the waiting game.
Let's hope maybe by the time Windows 8 come out SSDs will be cheap enough.
Actually an SSD would be great for games that are installed and use the HDD a lot. A good example would be GT5. Load times were decreased pretty dramatically in some cases.
However, I do agree that it wouldn't really even be needed for most games. Usually the disc speeds are fast enough. That and developers do find ways to make loading screens like they don't exist IE: Uncharted series.
Sony buying another quality developer.
In other news, Microsoft is closing deals on 100 years of Call of Duty DLC packs.
8/10 is a terrible score. Every game must be a 10/10 or it completely sucks. /me
^Agreed. I now have my PC connected to both my monitor and my 46" HDTV. Honestly, it's the only way to truly experience PC gaming for its graphical advantage over consoles since you can see the differences. Though most games look great on my 23" monitor, it looks even better in double the physical screen size at 1080p.
QAA + 960x704 sub-hd = Blurry Madness.
Disappointed in Insomniac going backwards in resolution. I remember they justified that 1280x704 was "perfect" for the PS3's scaling which was OK since it was a minor drop in resolution but is still close to 720p. But now it's really sub-hd and I hope they make better use of it.
Then again, let's all hope the gameplay department was improved.
Remember Peter, with great power comes great responsibility.
And by that I mean, unless we see games like Uncharted or even Call of Duty on a tablet instead of $5 apps, it's doesn't matter how powerful these tablets or phones will be.
The developers are going to be the driving force.
Take the PC for example, EXTREMELY powerful hardware yet still only a handful of games actually to take advantage of it.

School who? It's used in the wrong context. The way it is used is that it implies that it will improve GT5's presentation and value.
For example, "Bettering my skills" implies that I will improve my skills, not out-do it or beat it.
It should have been, "Forza 4 - Besting GT5's presentation and value."

Huh? Kotaku??? No underlying motive bashing the PS3?

I stopped reading at "bettering"
You know people don't realize how hard it is to make a game, period.
"Easy" hardware or "difficult" hardware. Some of the things these ENGINEERS and PROGRAMMERS have to go through will make you nuts.
It just so happens that everything they learned about designing games just was thrown off by the PS3's architecture even more.
Once again it's about RAM. Developers just aren't used to having the ram split 256/256 instead of the full 512 like on the 360.
Let's just hope the next Playstation is outfitted with more RAM so things like this doesn't happen again.
I'm patiently waiting for Bulldozer. However something tells me that by the time I build my next PC I'll end up going to Intel.
I don't get why they didn't just go with a $100 quad core and just make it a $500 system instead of a $458 one.
And people, this is a "BUDGET GAMING PC" so I don't get why some of you guys are making fun of it.
And some people are right, this setup will easily out power a PS3/360 graphically.
The biggest factor so far for me still playing on consoles is that most of my friends can not afford high end PCs. So most of my multiplayer gaming is done on the PS3. That and a lot of the console exclusive titles are still worth playing.
However, I'll play pretty much damn near anything else on the PC if possible. Dirt3 in particular. Yum.
But now I cant wait for the PS4/X720 just so it can somewhat catch up to PC hardware so at least that way I'll ...
Goes to show anybody can write articles while still being misinformed.
While I agree and thought "WTF is Sony thinking?" it makes sense seeing as how the Go wasn't a success do to it being online only.
This PSP is targeted towards the more casual buyers and given the price point, it could be kids.
