I can personally attest to this effect. I was looking at a nice 2TB HDD going for $90 and after just a couple of hours, it went into the $150s and I was like WTF??
Damn why don't people actually read articles? EA originally had planned to include in Battlefield 1943 on the PS3 disc but later changed it with diferrent content.
What I'm wondering though is why they couldn't do both:- have the game on the disc AND the content as well. It's not like they ran out of disc space.
Apple just patented the "Slide to Unlock" gesture. They actually managed to patent a freaking GESTURE. Not even the underlining technology, but the actual gesture. So this means that pretty much Android devices using this mechanism of Slide to Unlock (left to right) are infringing on this pathetic patent!
Last thing we want is for Sony to acquire Apple. Even if they wanted to drop the cash on Apple, it would be an acquisition that wouldn't be worth it!
This is not about which deal is better. It's about what each buying party will benefit from that buy itself. Sony had been partnered with Ericsson for quite some time and they've made some awesome phones, like the Walkman series.
Increasing competition from Nokia (which is also dying) made things tougher for Sony Ericsson. It makes sense that Sony buys them out and focus them on the production of say their upcoming smart phones or perhaps tablets.

Not fail, WIN!
When he reaches his max level of 50, he'll just slide in the other disc and keep on going till 100 lol.
Competition is always good for the market and most importantly, to us the consumers. It forces prices to drop down at even levels.
With that said, I don't like the way EA is forcing Origin down people's throats causing them to hate it even more.
Anybody know why Sony decided not to include in internal memory for the PS Vita?
That was fun to read. No. 1 sadly explains pretty much the behavior of some players in Battlefield.
If I'm running out of ammo, and you're an assault sitting next to me and I ask for it (point at you and press the spot button) you should be able to see this on the minimap with ease.
I shouldn't really have to jump up and down, shoot you, knife you, frag you just so that you can finally recognize what I'm trying to say.

You live in the Bahamas? Lucky bastard :D
I'm actually replaying a couple of PSP games, namely Dissidia Final Fantasy, MotorStorm Artic Edge and N+ on my PSP 2000, and as much fun as this is, it's not keeping my mind off the PS Vita. Playing the waiting game is getting harder every day!

Agreed. They implemented in 3D in later stages of the game. I mean I know of people who bought Gears of War 3 and didn't even know it had a 3D mode available.
This is not like GG's Killzone 3 that was built from the ground up with 3D in mind. They looked at the development stage of Gears of War 3 that they were in and decided to use a 3D mode that would easily work.
It actually had both. Realtime cutscenes took place during conversations like ones where you were about to make a decision or choice.
It did have CGI cutscenes that could be skipped at any time. I believe these cutscenes were rendered using the game engine but not in real time. That would explain why they didn't look as good as the CGI cutscenes used to advertise the game.
I personally love watching cutscenes as I care about the storyline as much as I care about the gameplay itself. A good game will have the best of both worlds.
The only time a cutscene should be skipped is if it's a long one AND you've just replayed/saw it.
I know of people who can't stand cutscenes. They start and immediately skip it, then have no idea what the gameplay is going to be like.
I do however hate it when cutscenes can...
I can't even facepalm myself or argue with him after reading his statement because it's just not worth it.
I'm proud to have purchased this amazing game rather than pirate it.

Come to think of it, you are right!
I recently replayed Resistance Fall of Man and remembered the first time (December 2006) I got to play this game: - it's the first PS3 game I've ever bought/played and I still have the original copy to date.
Then I thought about all the PS3 exclusives that after from December 2006 to this holiday season...that is a staggering amount of games to go through!

Once again the disagree fairy strikes!
She really needs a lesson in sarcasm.
Decisions like these wouldn't be easily implemented if Sony kept a tight leash on the PSN like Microsoft does with Xbox Live.
So not only will $249 get you a brand new PS3, but it also means that you can go online, download say this game, and start playing, all at no additional cost.
This is perfect for newcomers who want to get a taste of what gaming on PSN online feels like, newcomers with little resources or just enough money to only buy the console -...
