Corporations are my friends and I feel vicarious success when they make billions of dollars!
There are trophies in the HD collection, just sign into your ps account, you'll see ps3 and ps4 trophies grouped together when you're on PS4.
I usually balk at the idea of putting faith in massive corporations to do what's best for consumers because of competition (usually it's a race to the bottom), but I agree, when your business is selling fun times, you have to make your fun time as different as possible from the other guys' fun time.
Makes sense. RE8 and MH:Rise are getting to be a year or 2 old now. Sales are tapering off. By summertime in NA, Capcom will be on top again.
Underrated comment. Xbox in general curries far less favor with the Japanese/Japanese enthusiast gaming market. Xbox owners who also really want to play FF are a small group.
You're just describing the gaming experience on PC.
Final Fantasy is a brand now. It used to be a standard, but now it's watered down and overleveraged. They are mid action games these days, barely resembling JRPGs and barely resembling what made FF exciting in the first place. Xbox players should be demanding more original IPs that can be turned into legacy exclusive franchises, not the meatscraps from the filet mignon that Sony and Nintendo already dined on.
"Games Journalism"
Seriously. Between the bought-and-paid-for puff pieces from publishers, people acting like mobile games are actual games, and tripe like this, it's a wonder how the games industry survives with hacks like this writing about it.
That's what owlbert just said.
Most people consider console and PC NBA games to be trash, cynical cash grabs that undermine the actual gameplay to sell you.....something? They were already worse than a lot of mobile games. Now it's a mobile game.
The only reason why this game is being re-released at all is because of heavy nostalgia.
Despite the 90s nostalgia wave being long over, people are still clinging to this idea of reliving their childhood, one capitalistic motion at a time, even though n64's and emulation haven't stopped existing.
Imagine not playing this game in some form for the past 25 years.
what gets me is that og dead space came out well into the remake/reboot culture era, it was a fresh IP, and it was great.
now it's part of the remake/reboot culture. I can appreciate if the game was remade well and plays nicely, but it's just more reason for publishers to not branch out and try new IPs.
I guess between the fifa players, the fortnite players, the minecraft players, and the people playing indie games, there's still a market for ...
It's almost entirely confirmed that the Remedy-verse exists.
In Alan Wake 1 there are a ton of references to MP.
I'm sure Nintendo is well aware that DK exists.
Games journalists were the ones saying the curse had been lifted. Actual gamers knew that was bullshit. Is this the state of games journalism? Report shite, report corrections to shite?
On Steam, I tend to focus on the negative reviews more so than the positive ones. If a game is overwhelmingly positive, okay fine, I probably own it anyway lol, but if a game has mostly positive, you can bet I go right to the negative filter.
Criticism is more valuable than straight up gushing. I loved FFXV, but I'm completely cognizant of its flaws and I don't recommend it to anyone except the most die hard FF fans. And even then that's a dicey proposition.
I'm glad this reviewer really enjoyed themselves. Maybe I'll pick it up on a deep sale in 3 years after I've cleared out more of my backlog. This is one of those games that very few people will play initially, but in 5 years time we'll see it on all of the "slept on PS5 games" lists that tend to dominate near the end of a console life cycle.
I've been around too long, played too many games, seen too many botched releases and hackneyed marketing campaigns to have not seen this coming. You could smell a 6/10 on this game when they first announced it at E3 a few years back.
Sony needs to buy SE. Just get it done.
Actually decent take.
