👌 useless article and an upgradeable console destroys the convenience and ease of use argument. On top of that none of the benefits of PC gaming. If console gamers are willing to upgrade a console just buy a PC. The console hardware is done and buried

No, is going to be a mess. Oh all of a sudden upgrading a console is ok but upgrading a PC is rocket science. Go figure. Face it, the hardware of consoles is over.

I still no see any benefits of upgrading a console which becomes a useless limited gaming PC. So much for convenience and ease of use, might as well buy a PC if you are ok with hardware upgrades

What for, are consoles all about convenience and instant play. An upgradeable console defeats that point plus it will make console gamers just buy a PC instead

Sony has a back up plan (PlayStation Now). Console hardware is done and buried. Cloud gaming will take over on 2020. Hint that's the primary reason Sony released PlayStation Now; to work all technical issues, bugs, glitches before 2020 as the next PS5.

Consoles are not improving. Since the PS2 days console games have been running at 30 frames per second. 2016 console games still run at 30 frames per second, how is that for improvement. Since 2005 console gamers were promised native 1080p resolution and come 2016 and vast majority of console games run at less 1080p resolution. How is that for improvement. PS2 games had free unlockables, map editors, alternate paths, hidden paths, mini games, cheat codes, etc. Today map editors on consoles is...

Hook your phone to tv and use say phone as a gamepad. Yes, smartphones can be hooked to 4K smart tvs

That's for PC gaming not consoles. Look after a decade and both the PS4 and Xbox One failed to deliver every game at 1080p/60frames per second for every game. Already, is possible to play PS4 games via remote play on any smartphone/tablet. Those are facts not opinions. PS Now running on any smartphone/tablet will render consoles useless.

Onlive already did that

Without Kojima san, the MGS franchise is over. The story is pretty much done.

Why Street Fighter V did not release as early access for $20.00. The actual release in June for $60.00 or $50.00.

Microsoft smart tv lol. In all seriousness compare 📺 from the 90s to today. Back then tv was just that a tv with local channels only. Add cable/satellite get a box, play games, get a box, watch movies get a box (circuit board with inputs/outputs and removable storage). Today a typical tv comes:

USB ports
HDMI connection
Built-in Wifi
Ethernet Port

This leads to having Netflix, Amazon Video, Youtube, Facebook, etc. No box requir...

No it just shows how archaic/outdated the $60.00 for every game is. If retailers were allowed to compete with one another by who sells the game at the clearing price then great for everyone. For example going to Gamestop and Street Fighter is $60.00 bu5 going to Walmart Street Fighter V is $40.00. That's what needs to be done, not finding excuses; I hope this Street Fighter V fiasco turns into Star Wars Battlefront meaning SW Battlefront is for the casuals screw the hardcore (gameplay mec...

That's what xbox live suppose to be. In the future, like around 2020 you the gamer will turn on his/her 4K or 8K smart tv and access the xbox live app.

I wholeheartedly agree with you sir.

No, what the author is saying is that Xbox Live becomes a brand. Basically any device that runs Windows 10 will be able to run xbox live. What it means is that right now PC windows 10 systems will be able to access xbox games and vice versa. In the future it will come to mobile devices. Think of it able to Play Halo on any Windows 10 device offline/online with cross play enable.

Xbox Live becomes a service available as an app for 4/8K TVs, pc, and mobile devices. That's Microsoft ultimate goal .

I did not expected this to happen. Jaw dropped

I need to play this game before I judge it. Lacking content is not cool in my book. The whole $60.00 for every game needs to go and bring back a retail competitive market.
