Yes, and is exclusive to PC. It proves that only PC gaming brings innovative, creative, and new ways to push the videogame industry forward. Consoles on the other hand, just offer the same action/adventure, fps, racing games or the same tired franchises.

GFWL launched at the perfect time due to Steam was barely getting a foothold, PC gamers would rely on game developers/publishers online gaming offerings. Basically it was a bunch of islands in regards to PC online gaming. GFWL offered the golden opportunity to offer one size fits all online gaming component problem was gamers needed to pay to play online. PC gamers said no and put their footdown.
Then beloved Valve and Bethesda offered paid mods. Basically, PC gamers needed to pay f...

Microsoft just turns Xbox Live into an app for smart tv sets, brings Xbox Live to mobile devices, improves Xbox Live on PC laughs at Sony for doubling its costs in regards to PS4.5 , still stuck with the same audience, and game developers jumping ship. If Microsoft does bring Xbox Live to all platforms it increases its audience, lowers its costs, makes more money

The PS3 was the last true powerful console that was ahead of its time. It was the only console from last generation to offer some not all games at native 1080p/30 frames per second and on rare occasions 1080p/60 frames per second.

1080p/30 frames per second games:

MGS4 Guns of the patriots
Gran Turismo 4
Uncharted 2
Call of Duty franchise

1080p/60 frames per second games:

PS2 bundles like Go...

I concur, is true especially those PS3 gamers talking about not paying to play online because it went against their principle/consumer ethics. As soon as PS3 started charging to play online, guess what they cave in.

Nope you will be the first one to upgrade a console because your pals/family will have an upgradeable console. Making you weak and buying it say upgrade. I did not bought MGS V due to its microtransanctions despite being my favorite franchise. Bought Rise of Tomb Raider at half price, skip on Star Wars Battlefront, skip on. Uncharted 3 due to it supported online pass (another favorite franchise of mine). What I am saying is how strong is your will

Sadly is true about what this writer says, console gamers are weak or corporate slaves. If console gamers were truly gamers they would of told Sony to go kick rocks in regards to pay to play online, they would of fought tooth and nail against microtransanctions on $60.00 games. Hell they could of easily not bought Star Wars Battlefront, Evolve, Titanfall since these games are just mediocre, empty shells of games (no freeee gaming content at all). PC gamers are the only gamers that fight back ...

Yup videogame journalism is garbage and now rumors are considered facts throwing gamers into a frenzy in regards to upgradeable consoles. Really neither Sony nor Microsoft have publicly stated about an upgrade to PS4/Xbox One is all based on nothing at all but a rumor from a Sony employee lol. Gamers need to calm down and let this rumor die down already is making console gamers look like hypocrites, divided, and moronic for believing in rumors. Sony nor Microsoft benefit from an upgradeable c...

Is a rumor nothing more nothing less. If it becomes true, then consoles are pretty much done. Who is going to want to spend $300-$400 every two to three years for an upgrade to a console no one that's who.

My question is if PlayStation Now is the PS5, would you embrace cloud gaming?

Would you embrace able to play any PlayStation game on any platform either via the ☁ or digital distribution?

PC gaming market, check it out.

It will replace consoles, think about it. Sony releases PS Now on PC, mobile devices, as an app for smart tv equals higher profits, revenue, and a bigger audience. Is no longer constrained by inferior outdated hardware......

Games for Windows Live was Microsoft first rodeo on PC. Games for Windows Live was similar to Steam only worse. Now this Universal Windows Platform is similar to GFWL. So no the only time Microsoft has is one year and a half. But Microsoft needs to understand that PC gamers want full control of their gaming experience not some corporation telling them how to play their games. In order for UWP to succeed in the PC gaming market it needs:

Full digital refund policy

While I agree graphics don't define whether a game is great or not. Let us be honest since the release of the PS3, gamers were told that HD gaming had arrived and showed lifelike presentations of what the power of the PS3 truly was. In reality it was all a sham and consoles have failed to achieve 1080p/60 frames per second after more than a decade well that shows how archaic, outdated the console business model is. To make matters worse, consoles are the only platform that gamers must pay...

My god the media sure loves to blow PC requirements way too high, considering is running on weak ass consoles. Yup as time passes by these consoles will show how weak, inefficient, out of date truly are.

3641d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

That's what PC gaming gave us all along choices. So upgrading a rig is bad but upgrading a console is ok. Hypocritical much. I still strongly believe is just a rumour and let it rest.

If you want a powerful system just get a PC. Console generations have been 5 years and that didn't help. Is time to let go of this outdated business model and embrace the power of the cloud in conjunction with digital distribution 😁

lol sure why not who doesn't like cats

That is what Sony is working on right now with the PS Now. Sony did not release PS Now just for backwards compatibility, it released it to test out at what price will consumers accept paying PS Now monthly. To test it for any lag, streaming, etc. issues so by 2020 is fully functional. PS Now is PS 5 end of discussion, the console hardware is dead and buried deal with it.

Playstation Now replaces consoles end of story. Pros of Playstation Now:

Crossplay
Bigger audience (Playstation Now on PC, mobile devices, and as an application for smart tvs)=more profits
Family share plan
Lower costs (transportation, manufacturing, hardware testers, etc. all gone )

Ability to download Playstation games from a wide variety of digital stores (Amazon, Target, Gamestop, etc.) and store say games on external hard d...
