PC gaming is growing due to free online gaming, lower prices for games, mods, and of course 4K gaming. Initially building a PC may seem expensive, the simple fact that gaming PCs can last 5-6 years without the need of an upgrade really makes the PC attractive. Really, if say you built a monster gaming PC in say 2012 spent say $2,000. The gaming PC you built had:
Intel i7
32gb DDR 3 ram
Dual NVIDIA GTX680
1000watt dual rail platinum certi...
Awww, I wanted to see the demons from Doom 3
If you are planning on playing PC games on say Fedora Linux distro then absolutely. If on the other hand, you decide to play PC games on Windows 10 or MAC then no. The reason why is Windows 10 does everything automatic from drivers, defrag, to system updates. Using Steam is exactly the same as PlayStation Store.
I agree. That's what surprised me in regards to PC gaming
Me personally, I would love for console gamers to tell Microsoft/Sony to bring back:
Cheat Codes
Free Unlockables
Mini games
Map editors
It would also be lovely, if console gamers demanded Sony/Microsoft and Nintendo to implement:
Mod Support on all games 😄
Loyalty Program
Coupons
Competitive Market
Family Share Plan
Is easier to dump the console a...
The problem lies that the game developing team is all over the world (game testers on US, sound team on Australia, game designer in Japan, etc.) Gaming needs to go back to local game development teams to reduce the costs of game development, reduce the bugs/glitches technical issues in general. Finally, there needs to be a competitive market when it comes to selling games. That will hopefully put an end to microtransanctions on $60.00 games
Ugghhh!!!! So it pretty much going forward paying $60.00 games will come with microtransanctions. Ok this means playing more indie games
Yes, I agree PC gaming has gotten a whole lot better but its still not perfect
Very well written article. Personally after 2001-2002. I never expected myself to return to PC gaming. Early 200s for me playing on PC was a horrible experience. So back then to insert a PC game went like this:
Go to local store buy PC game
Go home install disc to PC cd drive
Insert CD key
Create game folder
Create save file within the game folder
Agree to the EULA, License Agreement, Terms and conditions.

Lack of mod support
Lack of LAN support
Lack of offline multiplayer
Lack of map editor
Lack of labyrinth like levels
Lack of unique online game modes
Those are some of the reasons why online only games tank. Its games like Team Fortress 2/Counter Strike franchise have been successful (it included those features I mentioned)
Sony is known for not supporting their peripherals (eyetoy, ps move, ps eye, etc.); therefore, Sony needs to commit to supporting PS VR if it wants it to succeed. Second, consoles are static PCs are not meaning VR needs a dynamic system in order to improve not a static system. Finally, if Sony does decide to upgrade the PS4 hardware wise (PS4 Neo 👿), then it most likely lose customers.
I have a 6 year old gaming PC laugh at its outdated parts:
AMD PHENOM 2 quad core processor overclocked from 3.0 to 3.2 ghz
DDR2 4gb RAM
NVIDIA GTX 480
It can still run Rise of Tomb Raider at mid or low settings all bells and whistles on.
So no is not how much a gamer spends on a PC ; is all about which PC parts a gamer buys.
Ummm no actually it will be the opposite as games become more detailed, bigger, the consoles will struggle. Uncharted 4 is an action adventure game. Its games like Ark Survival Evolved and No Man's Sky that will prove how outdated these consoles are.
I knew it, PC VR will improve over time while PS VR remains the same
Interesting game
I wholeheartedly agree with the author of this article.
Yes, I will buy this game. I will sadly play on my laptop. Fingers cross if this game does have a tv mode. Meaning I can play it on my 42 in 📺.
2020 PC gaming will reign supreme, PS Now will be the next generation console.
Consoles have become to PC like:
System updates like PC check
24/7 internet connection like PC ✔
Patches/updates like PC check
86x architecture ✔
