I had no idea all these games shared some of the same facial animation tech..intersting: Killzone, MGS4, UT3, Ruby demo, etc.
Yes, we can stop with the BS format non-sense. This is big for Sony too though. They now have 100% legitimacy in saying PS3 plays the next-gen HD format movies as well as games. It is now true, just as it was when Sony said the same of PS2...I am not saying this will impact 360, but this is a HUGE boost for PS3, and probably its future potential for install base in North America and the rest of the world.
I am quite a visual person and I totally agree with you all. As inconsequential as it seems, the fact that the blu-ray logo sounds different, and looks much more different in its presentation to DVD and HDDVD IS a factor. Look at the designs of the logos: blu-ray is simple yet sleek. HDDVD is quite busy looking: too many arrows and overall "clutter" in the design. I have taken some art design courses and it is clear that the Blu-ray design team was sensitive to these principles...

It sure is looking like its going to happen this gen, I can't wait. I have wished for this since that E3 05 demo! Especially after seeing Advent Children...I always thought that Midgar would look awesome as a fully dynamic rendered 3D city. Hurry up and finish FF XIII (really excited for this to) so we can get this!!!
Oh it was there..I just missed most of it due to picking that moment to get a beer. It was so sad I just figured it was a new HD TV commercial no indication that it was for HDVD till the end. Very sad waste of 3.0 million, if you ask me.

Blade, the only thing I saw was the Paramount Iron Man trailer and the Universal Leatherheads one...there was NOTHING for Toshiba/ HDDVD. Unless it was pre-game??

Anyhow,
FF XIII and FF Versus: XIII are in the same universe, but perhaps take place at different times in history and or locations within that universe. Versus is very modern day with the twist of magic existing. XIII is quite futuristic with high technology and magic.
Gamewise, Versus is more action oriented (like Kingdom hearts) while XIII is more traditional like the previous Final Fantasy games. I hope this helps.

I hear you man, its impressive non the less, regardless. Oh and given what we have seen of the in-engine cut-scene (maybe gameplay) footage of FF 13, Versus may be able to be this high of quality..Only time will tell.

I believe you are right. It would make sense and go along with the whole FNC concept well--not all games on the same console: FF XIII and Versus XIII PS3, Agito 13 mobile phone, and maybe WAIT FOR IT....the MMO FF XIII: Haeresis 360.
