I agree, it is going to happen. Various members of the Final Fantasy team now know the word "remake" without need of translation..Also, over the years the interviews yield answers to this question increasingly blatant. It used to be "there are no plans for a remake" and now the response is "the team that created the original game is still tied up with Versus: XIII...."
They are finally relenting, no longer outright denying, and even treating the q...
Ashta is quite right on this. Remember when Squeenix announced FF7 Before Crisis. Japan ate it up with an enourmous spoon. Square said it was coming next to Europe and America...uhhh yeah that was 2004. Just where is that game???
Even though our wireless networks are beginning to approach Japans 2004 capabilities, this game is still nowhere near in sight. SE rightly realized that if they try to release ANY major franchise outside of Japan on cell phones, they will FAIL hardcor...
Ok, here is the thing. Technically, the graphics as a whole, show much more diversity than anything we have seen in KZ2 so far, however, the effects are WAY better in KZ2; explosions, lingering thick smoke, and filters are on a level entirely their own--even some of the graphical shaders.
With that out of the way, this is definitely a sizable improvement over Gears 1, and I can't wait to finally fight a Brumak as opposed to just watching Delta squad run away from it....Good tim...
Wow. Its been 24 hours since I last saw the Killzone footage and it just floored me again...Its as if I am seeing it again for the first time. Truly beyond words.
The only thing that would be better would be to see the intro to this level in HD. My god, the craft skipping across the water only to crash onto the shore, all the while, puffy, lingering, billowy clouds of smoke trail the incoming rockets and such. Unbelievable!!!
Massive improvement, oh and as good as the animations in HL2 are, Uncharted is way better, and KZ2 destroy them both. Really not fair comparisons.
Now about the animations, On the one hand, I do still wish we saw more animation interactions between the Sev and his comrades, but on the other, I am amazed that we are even seeing what we are, it truly is getting closer to its impossible target!!! If/ when we see the enemy AI move around as much (and in strategic manners) as the fr...
I may be wrong about this, but it almost seems that KZ2, R2, and M:PR are all using very similar lighting engines, i.e. all three games have absolutely fantastic lighting!
Yep, totally agree.
Actually, what I really want, is for Sony to release the full intro with some of the ensuing gameplay...Cause the insanity of the action in the intro hands down flat out creams what was shown in E305! It is a shame that the only footage is currently from the low quality Jeux-france vid.
Another thing this appears to show is that the "bouncy" physics have been toned down a bit--at least I hope!
Yeah, srsly!! When M1 was shown off at E306 it looked pretty awefull, yet when it hit TGS a few months later it looked great, and when it launched it looked a good 80 percent to the E3 pre-render.
Contrast that with this: the interactivity is MUCH closer to what was promised with the original BS render--further the graphics this time are WAY beyond where they were when the first game was initially unveiled (at about 40 percent feature complete too, btw). These two things, I thi...
What Fishy said...
It looks great!
Unfortunately, the detractors will never agree...and they have a tiny sliver of truth to their claims. The game did get downgraded (graphically) from the original TGS05 trailer, unfortunately. Not in all ways of course, but certain ones. The lighting and the extreme facial and hair detail on Snake...Interstingly, his 'stash actually improved!
Here is the graphical sacrifice:
Article needs correction:
"EA HAS the potential to destroy the GTA series..."
EA will not just give up on trying to grab Take Two and R*..deadline was extended til' late May..its not over yet folks, sadly.

So its not a typo, its as in Bass (lowest) Tenor (middle) Treble (top) 3rd. That makes litte sense as it ignores alto, counter-tenor..which also sit in the middle. There are more than 3 octaves spanning Bass clef through Treble clef range.
Better yet, all 4!!
Wait, wasn't VI already released as a remake for GBA and now DS?
Yo, it will be PS3 when it happens, not PS2.
Judging by that recent interview with Yoshinori Kitase, it will happen..hell, he said that the word "remake" no longer needs to be translated into Japanese as they now know it all to well!!
Well, yeah the Ratchet GDC demo was real-time in game engine, but not "gameplay" same with the R2 teaser :)
What do you mean...it certainly appears in-engine. I don't think anyone doubts that..However its not not in-game J Stephenson confirmed that, on Neogaf by saying "first gameplay June 13"

WTF, where is everyone getting that KZ2 is confirmed for Gamers Day??!
Its not misguided, the people are talking about the difference between the dev-kit footage from 2005 and the actual PS3 game. Yeah, there was a downgrade to the characters, particularly Snake. The final lighting is not near as realistic and natural as what the dev-kits could put out, the skin shaders were slightly more complex, and his hair was driven by 60000 vertices. I would guess that the final hair is somewhere in the 100's to 1000's. Oddly enough though, I think his moustache actual...
