If the delay between ports is less than 6 months, I think this is more of an issue of gameplay and not graphics. I doubt you have enough time to improve graphical output to the noticeable margins within 6 months while handling all the other issues we are not aware of.

People have been comparing screen captures and, for instance, the grass in the PS3 verison looks like it has been transplanted sticks. While the Xbox 360 verison looks much smoother and lusher.

If that is the case, then by your logic we cannot say the same thing about the RRoD problem that plagued the Xbox 360 before hand. Because Microsoft has fixed it and made the necessary changes, the PS3 fanbase can no longer use the RRoD has a valid argument against the 360.
