Nope I don't disagree with you.... however, it's a big gamble for studios to make soulslike games as they are not very newbie friendly and statistically most people don't even finish them. I find that people that like this genre are VERY picky about how they play so if they are not top notch they hit the bargain bin quickly. This is a good one though.

This is exactly why this deal really doesn't move the needle in the console space as much as people think. It will not get Xbox out of 3rd place, it just makes them richer.

Nintendo is known for relatively short announcement times. The switch was announced 5 months before launch. (October 2016 announcement, launched March 2017).
Yeah but considering a lot of this gen’s games have been multiplatform thus far, this will be solid performance for a handheld.

Can’t wait to see how this turns out. I will not be buying an Xbox just for COD. Nothing else in this acquisition really moves the needle for console gamers. This is a very PC oriented deal at this point as Activision has fallen by the wayside outside of COD and most blizzard fans play on another platform.
If Sony turns around and grabbed capcom that would have a larger impact than this from a gamer perspective. It’s a good get for Microsoft from a money perspective however...

Microsoft will never catch them. Like Phil said in his sad reports during the ABK dealings, losing so bad in the xbox one / ps4 error was a grave issue. Starting last gen people began really purchasing games etc digitally. Many of those 40 million now have purchases and claimed games tied to the PS Store. Will people sacrifice their libraries just for call of duty being cheaper on GamePass? Not likely. Microsoft can spend all the money they want but it will take way more than COD on Game...
