Exactly!! Last gen may be over for Nintendo, but Sony and Microsoft are still actively selling their consoles. We won't know who "won" until they stop selling as well.
You can easily say the PS2 won because none of that generation's consoles are being sold anymore.
I think the fact that they're making a third version of the game would be reason enough as to why it might be delayed. Not that trouble is brewing.
Last year they versions for the PS3 and PS Vita. This year they add the PS4 in as well. It should take extra time.

It's a good move though. PC business is a money loser and a race to the bottom. It's also dying a slow death right now.

All I was trying to say is multiplatform games tend to look better on the easier to develop for console.
It seems like everyone will jump to the defense of the XB1 and say, "Well the PS3 was more powerful, but the 360 games looked better." I'm simply saying developers aren't going to jump through a thousand hoops to optimize a multi-plat game for either console

The PS3 was more powerful if developers took a lot of time and put a lot of effort into using the SPUs and other complex systems in the PS3. The problem is, they didn't. Why? Because they don't want to create any more work for themselves than is necessary

What made the Xbox successful was that it was formed by a group of people who understood gaming and were passionate about it. They're all gone now and you have in their place some really smart people who might understand tech, but it's not the same thing. I'm worried how this might play out for their future.

Stats like these are why Microsoft exclusives are going to be harder to obtain in the future. It was easier for publishers to sign exclusive deals when everyone thought the xbox was going to be the dominant player, but PS4 sales and stories like this are going to make publishers think twice now.
Unless it's not ready, delaying it until Feb 22 is a horrible idea. The servers are going to be getting bombarded because of the launch in Japan and to add to that, they want to distribute a firmware update to the other 4.2 million PS4s already sold? They should probably release the firmware incrementally to make sure everything goes smooth. Europe one week, the US next, and so on.
Not true. Many companies go bankrupt every day. And some, like Kodak, go bankrupt, restructure their corporation while eliminating legacy debt, and reemerge from bankruptcy as a fresh company.

After seeing Sony release the Vita 2000 in the UK for more than the 1000 was selling for, they decided to follow suit. If no one was buying it at the current price, release a more expensive version and watch the customers come flooding in.
Sony works for Nintendo, they buy Windows from Microsoft... it's all good. As long as everyone is making money and not going bankrupt.

I'm talking more about the PS4 having PS1 and PS2 emulation built in. I guess they still sell PS1 classics and they could do the same for PS2 games now.
