Not really. It improves things for sure. I have had an ssd in my ps4 since launch and one in my pro when I upgraded..
But I think the focus will be loading. Can be enhanced per design, but the the base ps4 would still be viable during actual game play.
And developers have actually slowed down loading to ensure an even start for pvp. Bf4 introduced this and continues, bungie does this, and activision that I know of.

I love how everyone thinks opening up to Microsoft is all roses.
They are one of the dirtiest companies in the world due to their mad desire for consumer information and designing marketing around having said information.
When you look at who they are, add in a billion dollar business in gaming, trusted with customer information...
Microsoft is THE last company you want to open up to.
Their entire objective is to control computing, friendliness with windows...

Microsoft’s best and mostly only selling point this gen is last gen.. as in reverse compatibility..
The disc-less console removes this for any physical media.
So the disc-less console for Microsoft stands to not only represent what Microsoft has done this gen alone... its lack of power, poor performance on this gen of games, and having to pay to play free to play popular games like fortnite and apex legends really is more of a huge negative over any positive.
They r...

It could be more expensive..
But the reason is the hardware and the fact that this is an addition to gaming more than a “next gen console”.
As in, ps4 and ps4 pro are not getting left behind.
Ie they now have offerings for all price points.
Sony has dedicated this gen to game engines.. these engines were forward compatible.
Major third party developers are also usually way behind due to using the exact same game engines from last gen.. so if the m...

Nope.
You need the device to deliver the better experience.
Customers do not renew tvs every 6 years and home PCs are ancient.
Sure, there will be dumbed down games to stream..
but to get the best quality, a device will still need to be offered.
To play a game via streaming, be in a party chat with your friends, stream a game to twitch, etc... that is a needed device.
They still sell new stereos, cell phones, and tvs every year.. all str...

That’s what a strong history of providing award winning games does.
That is literally Sony’s only sales pitch that matters.
Microsoft will be out there spending millions upon millions trying for their sales pitch.

I have been using a 1tb ssd on ps4 that I replaced the hard drive thanks to Sony’s friendly option to switch it out,
Who’s catching up?

I love how twitch is suppose to stand for something.
It is not like cable tv where viewers really get to choose what a streamer plays.
There are also sponsored streams which can be used to fluff numbers using a popular streamer with high numbers.
They did it with sea of thieves, battlefield 5 launch, cod etc...
It really is not viable information at all.
Saying that, A popular streamer has their crowd but it is still one individual and according t...

I’ll help...
It’s a Sony console. Fans are like “I can not wait to see what games Sony makes with more power”.
Microsoft fans will be like “god I hope they deliver”.
That’s what history does to things.

But that is part of the point..
The x is leaving the s and base to a point that even the performance can not be recommended for players.
Why even release it?
They will get irrelevant next year as Microsoft pushes to have competing games. They will either not be supported, or the performance and graphics will be massively effected.
It is a lose lose situation.
They should have just done a disc-less x with a lower price point to get players that have...

I just love that Microsoft talks about something, and it is bar setting.., Sony HAS been doing, and it is “they need to do more” to compete.
One day, hopefully, gaming journalism will be legit,

8k “support”
Sony makes hardware. That’s what they do.
The ps4 had a Sony made hdmi that was able to support hdr before hdmi 2.0 was out.
They are now more about game engines and how to get the best they can do combined with their high knowledge of computer hardware.

Right?!
Because lord knows it did wonders this gen for Microsoft. Must be nice to not have to spend money making games and just rereleasing last gen

We are long past hardware war.
Absolutely zero confidence in Microsoft’s ability to provide amazing games.
They will have to re-earn that.

I’m just glad it did not look a generation behind with an added 12x the power of the cloud.

Am I right?

2511d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Sony is making their ssd.
It is like how they made their own hdmi instead of installing a commercial brand.
This allowed them to incorporate hdr on the base consoles while Microsoft had to release a newer model.

Every game is a qte
You push a button for a reaction.
This is 100% of games.

The 20th anniversary of their greatest selling console. The ps2.
I am sure they are going to make it a big deal and the ps4 to the ps5 will be treated like the ps2 from the ps1.

Microsoft’s biggest asset is their investment in gaming “media”.
So they sell any idea while controlling the negativity and to whom it is directed to.
