It is not about the new kid on the block...
It is epic is paying to have the friends exclusively because they want to be the “cool kid”.
And just like the birth of a company and “growing”... who’s to say they do not start peaking back all the “perks” that are for the developers? They always end up focusing on the money.

Most places just expect a person to play x amount of a game for a review.
I know person that wrote reviews.. there was game that he had to write one for and he never played it.. he just asked me because he saw I played it.
The bar is not really set that high for reviewers.
Not saying that is the majority of reviewers... but there is no confirmation that said reviewers played the whole game.
