From what I understand you can only get true 1080p resolution through a digital connection I.E. HDMI. Component cables are an analog signal and are only capable of 1080i at the most. From what I understand anyway.

The reason that the world is trying to find fault in the PS3 is because the PS2 was in first place last gen. Trust me if xbox was in first place last gen people would be down on xbox360 this time around. That's also the reason why everyone loves nintendo, because it was the underdog last gen.

Mine works like a charm.
Is the only reason to get this console. Traditional video games don't really lend themselves to the wii control style. IMO id rather not play something like prince of persia with a wiimote but baseball or even racing is another story. The wiimote feels tacked on at the end for most of the multi platform games.

...and as we all know if the hardware sucks the games mean nothing.I'm hoping that they fix the hardware issues on the elite so that i can feel confident purchasing a 360 instead of throwing in a bigger hdd and tacking on an hdmi.
I want one but i will not buy one until im absolutely sure that it wont overheat in the middle of a game.
That power brick also sucks but i may have to suck it up on that front.

The install base is what it is because for a year there was no competition.
The demo for this game was no good on the PC.
Because I'd like to play Bioshock without overheating, crashing or causing damage to my game disc.
Give it time....it will come
PC's are always going to be better for gaming (if thats the focus of your rig) but there is alot to be said for the console experience. It just does more for me. 19 inch LCD and a computer chair or a 50 inch plasma and a nice comfy couch, console wins my vote. After 5 hours of playing WOW I like to relax on the couch, you get the drift.
Garbage....PS3 is doing just fine xbots, don't get too excited.
