I Disagree,
A lot of PS2 owners out there are waiting for a PS3 price drop, not a 360 price drop.
I think a 360 price drop will mean nothing when they make their decision, because again they are in the market for a PS3.
But we'll see in time.

Either way, It's rather exciting to watch unfold.
They started pulling the PS2 hardware out of the 60 gig models awhile back so why would they then put it back in for the 80 gig model?

If anything this news is going to hurt M$ not sell more consoles.
Think from a consumer point of view, not a fanboy one.
A consumer is not going to buy a faulty product because "Hey, It's got a 3 year warranty so who cares."
They will go elsewhere to spend their money, and they will spend more for peace of mind.
The only people this will help are those that already own a 360.
I'm not saying this will help Sony, that is yet to be see...
The reason you see a big increase in PS3 is because PS2 owners are upgrading to the PS3.
Isn't the 360 cheaper still?
A 360 price drop may sell a few more consoles but most last gen owners are waiting for the PS3 IMO.
I however may be swayed to buy a 360 Christmas-ish since I have the other 2 next gen (read: this gen) platforms.
Off topic, damn...I love the camera work on GeOW...I need to play it at least once.
