It's nice to actually see a 360 owner admit that there is a problem, instead of yelling BS and questioning the numbers.
If more owners made a stink perhaps something would get done.
I'm hoping that the chip change will solve the heat problem.
Waiting until at least fall it looks like, maybe forever.
"Moore refuses to comment on specific experiences with the hardware, but says people should be focused on how Microsoft treated them as a result of the failure, not the failure itself".
How about fix your hardware?
More people would be happier with that I assure you.
I'm gonna call BS. Very amusing if it indeed turns out to be true.
I'm still going to say the chances are very slim.
Now let's hope it plays better too.
i doubt it.
From what I've seen here the 360 fanboys and PS3 fanboys are pretty stubborn.
They are dead set against the PS3/360 for some reason.
It's like hockey, If you like the leafs it's mandatory that you hate the canadiens and vice versa.
Coke vs Pepsi, you get the drift.
Even without Blu-ray I'm pretty sure PS3 would win the console war, perhaps even more so.
EDIT: Lol, I guess I should have added that I'm not being a fanboy on this one, just calling it as I see it.
I see some people took the liberty of taking some bubbles for this one.
/sigh
Because i disagree with everything you've said here.
have fun trying to use a quad layer dvd in your 360.
My guess is you'll be there awhile.
and if you're lucky enough eventually you'll get a replacement with a 65 nm chip!
spoken like a true fanboy.
yu spleled sucky rong!
Let me grab you some @ss wipe to wipe you're mouth, it's getting pretty full.
All I can say is you heard instantly of 360 overheating etc.
and so far I've heard virtually nil save a couple of instances of drive malfunction on the PS3.
Sony is WELL below the "Average failure percentage" and I didn't get my PS3 at launch but I can tell you it's a sexy black, healthy beast.
To me that says PS3 is better built.
But as always...
M$=software.
Sony=Hardware.
I strongly disagree.
Gamers are about what?
Oh yeah, games!
Therefore "gamers" will buy the console for the games, not the name on the console.
Itching to talk to some EB employees for the real story.
That is how I will make my decision. (based on returns etc.)
BTW I was watching attack of the show and they had the hardware segment covering the elite, apparently it runs cooler and quieter.
But I am skeptical at best.
Don't know who to believe.
Time will tell.
Moving a console shouldn't scratch a disc!
Honestly!
I move my computer tower all the time when discs are spinning, and hey, guess what!
No scratches!
Some of you 360 fans out there should learn that while you've accepted something as normal, it doesn't make it so.
As far as I'm concerned this is a non-issue.
I think if i had a 360 i could live with this.
What's wrong with you 360 fanboys?
I don't like your comment so you suck!
You're feminine!
Good comeback boys.
Keep up the good work, you're making yourselves look F'in brilliant.
From what i read it's a design flaw.
The MOBO becomes warped from the heat and some of the components lose contact giving you the red rings.
It apparently starts with freezing and ultimately ends with red rings and you're done.
That's why you apparently see more epoxy on the Elite MOBO to give the components a better grip. A band-aid solution.
Has it worked? Not sure, what's the Elite fail rate?
That's why I'm waiting for the 65nm chip, for t...
