I'd drop some points to allow my avatar to use the "dismissive wank" motion.
I like games like Silent Hill where you have the option to run away from enemies rather than fighting them. For me, survival horror isn't about clearing out a room before the game allows you to progress. Sometimes, it's just about getting the hell out of a room before you get killed.
And Schmotz, as much as I liked Dead Space, I'm with ya. By the time I got to level 10, I was ready for the game to be over. I got a little tired of doors being locked, only for my character to tur...
I'd rather spend my points on games and DLC, thanks very much. The customization thing (and "standing out in a crowd" the author mentions) is a joke. Reminds me of a King Missile song:
"I want to be part of the different crowd
And assert my individuality along with others who are different like me"
You had me at "It has no relationship to the movies."
I like the point made about survival horror being reinvented with a new kind of fear, but the Resident Evil series is the only example given in this context (and survival horror enthusiasts would argue RE stopped being scary once RE4 was released). It's a nice argument, but I think there would need to be a few more examples of other games before being able to say the Survival Horror Genre as a whole is moving in this direction.
What's the word on backwards compatibility with PS3s? I remember hearing they don't offer it anymore.
Anyhoo, since I already own a 360, I would pick up a PS3 with a price drop and the release of Heavy Rain.
Where's Black in this list? That game was all about blowing stuff up.
Seriously, how messed up is this fanboy war when we have to give props to people for being level-headed. It just goes to show that people who prefer to not slag the competition any chance they can get are a rare breed. Bubbles all.
I tend to really dig games that use Havok. Good stuff.
That is all.
The PS3 is starting to look pretty good. I expect I'll probably pick one up in another year or so.
Definately going to keep an eye on this game.
It makes sense for them to discontinue the Pro model now, so when they release some kind of bundle for Natal, they're only dealing with 3 different SKUs, as opposed to four. Having four different types of 360s on the market would just make it confusing to the average consumer.
No surprises here.
Or about as long as MGS4's ending. :P
Oh, I'm sure they will.
When are they planning on giving Natal its real name? They should get on that.
I like the comparison to snacks at the movie theater. Well done, good sir.
Dude, I tried. But you made it impossible to do so.
It's nice to see Monkey Island still in the XBLA Top 10. Don't think it will be there next week, sadly...
