I still think Microsoft should change the language from "Only Available on Xbox 360!" to "Not Available on PS3 or Wii!" because that's really what they're getting at anyway. And it'd be more truthful.
While both games will no doubt be amazing, I don't think either will win GOTY.
"Uhm... yeah I thought about it, and it's completely bullshit and false."
Waiting for the whole "360 games are multiplat with PC" argument...
I'm a 360 owner, and maybe it's just me, but I look at the list of PS3 exclusives and aside from Heavy Rain (and ok, God of War 3, I played the demo and it's pretty cool) there's really nothing I'm interested in. A few racing games, some JRPGs and a couple shooters (and honestly there are enough shooters out there that if I really need a fix I can play them).
PS3 definitely has more exclusives, there's no denying that. But even with the few exclusives Microsoft has in compariso...
There are so many games coming out between now and then that I'm interested in, I have no problem waiting. In addition to the ones mentioned in the article, there's AVP, the Dragon Age expansion, Alan Wake...it's going to be a busy year.
Even without any significantly new gameplay elements, this game is going to sell like gangbusters. Looking forward to the beta!
I surprisingly had alot of fun with DJ Hero, but my overall interest in these music games is waning...
I hope they base it off of the Risk 2210 A.D. boardgame. It's one of the best new versions of Risk, in my opinion.
I typically don't like synth scores, but this one was fantastic. In addition to Blade Runner, it also reminded me a bit of the original Tron score. Seriously, ME1 is one of the best game soundtracks I've ever heard.
I hope there's a listing for the CD soundtrack soon. Amazon only has a listing for MP3s, and I'd rather get a physical CD.
EDIT: Thanks for the link, man. It sounds like it will be another fantastic score!
One of the few times I actually don't envy those with a PS3 and 360/PC. Two powerhouse games being released on the same day? Madness!
Last I heard, Gearbox (the guys behind Colonial Marines) plans to watch "very closely" at how well this does. Hopefully AVP does well, and Gearbox sees that the franchinse still has legs, and makes Colonial Marines their top priority.
I really want this game to do well. The better it does, the better the chances are that we'll get more Aliens games in the future. Day 1 purchase for me.
In terms of sales, I think Splinter Cell will cream Heavy Rain, mostly because Splinter Cell is a well-established franchise and Heavy Rain is a new IP. I hope I'm wrong; Heavy Rain looks excellent and I hope the PS3 owners support the game and buy it.
That being said, I expect Splinter Cell to kick my arse right smartly.
What sweet torture. This game is going to be fantastic.
In terms of sheer awesomeness, here are my predictions:
ME2 vs MAG = ME2 Winner
SCC vs HR = Really close, but I think HR will take it
The only decent PS3 exclusive for 2010? Don't forget Heavy Rain.
Truth, I hope you're wrong about Heavy Rain. I really do. That game looks utterly fantastic and it would be a damn shame if PS3 owners didn't buy that game.
As for MAG, an online-only game? Meh, who really cares...
HAHAHAHA!! Oh man, that's funny. I agree, this oversaturation of info is just killing me. Can't WAIT for this game.
Yes, but when does it come out??
I'm looking forward to this. The last two Mass Effect novels were pretty good.
