...the shark.
Yep, I think the prices are ridiculous, so I'm not going to use this service. I probably wouldn't have in the first place, because I like having physical copies of games. But if people want to drop that much money, more power to 'em.
I've seen Machine Girl and I thought it was terrific. You listed tons of stuff that I wouldn't necessarily want to own, but would be damn good renters. If Netflix ever came to Canada, I'd jump on it immediately.
It's too bad this isn't available in Canada, as it would be nice to have the option. I'm not much of a renter, but I would probably try out something like this if it were available to me. :(
I guess it's nice this is finally available, but I won't be buying any of it. I don't really have enough expendable income to blow on virtual clothes.
That's alot of awesome, awesome metal. This game looks like it will be tons of fun.
Yep. Fvck 'em.
^^ Good point. Games are a replayable form of entertainment, which is the same reason I don't mind if I have to pay a little more for a really good boardgame. F'rinstance, I bought RISK 2210 eight years ago and it was probably $80 at the time. I can confidently say it was worth every penny, because I'm still playing it to this day.
Videogames are obviously different in that there they don't share the same staying power some boardgames have (due to game sequels, new hardware, et...
I paid full price for Rock Band 2 (not the bundle, just the game) and that was money well spent. The way I see it, the game has paid itself back simply based on the amount of nights it has been used as entertainment at parties. If it had been $100, as much as that would've been a gouge to my wallet at the time, it's totally justified because I've got my money's worth, and then some.
Fallout 3 GOTY Edition (not released yet, obviously)
With videogames being one of the leading forms of entertainment, I like to compare its cost with the cost of a movie. If I'm okay spending $12 on a 2-hour movie ($6 per hour of entertainment), then spending $60 on a game with just an 8-hour single-player campaign ($7.5 per hour) is a pretty comparable investment. If a game has tons of replay value and a smokin' multiplayer, then I can justify the cost of game even more.
$100 for a game? It would definately make me a bit more ch...
The option is there for those who want to use it. No harm, no foul.
If ads were optional, dollars to donuts everyone would turn them off.
I will agree with you Saaking that having it not automatically go to the "My Xbox" channel is kind of annoying.
Even movie and tv related gamerpics are a kind of advertisement. But whatever, I'll whore myself out so I can have an Alien vs. Predator gamerpic. :)
As for the regular ads that show up on the dashboard, who cares. It doesn't really concern me all that much. And if it truly informs someone of something they're interested in and had no previous knowledge of, then that's cool with me.
Yup. Awesome book. That and World War Z.
I hear they've started to discontinue the 12+1 cards. Poo.
Kionic said it best: "It's not bothersome."
I just renewed my Xbox Live account yesterday. No big whoop.
As long as the game comes out, this makes me a happy camper. Hopefully Double Fine didn't have to pony up too much cash to Activision.
That is all.
Dead Rising is tons of fun, even after a third playthrough. Buy it used, rent it, borrow it from a buddy.
Getting sick of these "US-Only" deals...
