The studios that benefit the most, will be the ones that haven't been sticking to a static platform.
No, if MMO's start relying on expansions as updates, then i'm sure you'll see the playerbase dropping. You need to have smaller updates along the way, to make sure people know you're still caring about the game.
Most of all the companies simply weren't ready for the HD generation, and that counts for Western games as well. Even now, developers are playing catchup, because they've been developing for a static platform for so long.
It's almost sad to watch, but people with high expectaions for this seem to genuinely believe, that they can actually achieve something with such a low budget.
The truth is that in today's development environment, you simply can't with the scope of this game.
This looks pretty silly on the part of CIG, because they would go the path of ''legal'' action due to a written piece. It would be different if they intentionally wrote misinformation, but CIG could just as easily have ignored what they put up.
In this case, i think it's a good thing that The Escapist stands by their word. It'll be interesting to see this unfold.
@moldybread, i'm not sure anyone is upset here other than you, because i'm just stating the obvious. If being upset means stating the obvious, then i don't want to be in your little world.
The thing you can give it credit for is the voice acting, but that's just about it.
Why was it underrated? The story was taken from a book, then made worse. The ending just made it terrible x2.
The combat is nothing to write home about, nor the hand holding platforming.
What is good about it, however, is the voice acting for the characters.
There's really nothing compelling for me to update to Win 10, instead of using Win 7 as i am currently. I'm waiting to see what catches there are before making any kind of moves, plus DX12 is just another of MS's usual hooks to make you switch version. Privacy is another matter, but we've already seen that MS made backdoors for other parties in the past.
DX12's benefits can be achieved with Vulkan as well, and it was mentioned that a backend with DX in min...
You know, exclusive used to mean something you can't obtain anywhere else, or play anywhere else in this case. I'm not sure when this changed, however.
You forget Split Second, which was quite enjoyable to play as well. :)
The ''realistic'' racing sims, or general racing games are just not that exciting for me. That's why i prefer games like Crash Team Racing, Rollcage, Split Second, Blur or Burnout. Those games give you a much more exciting kick when playing, because there's always the threat of other players knocking you down.
Speaking of Rollcage, i'm waiting for GRIP to send me a early access code. It's a spiritual successor to that game.
I'm pretty sure that's Pokket from Twitch, but i could be wrong. The only time i watched her was on Gamebreaker TV, but even then, i thought she was a bit of a drama queen.
just by looking into Hentai games will make you realize, that it gets boring rather quickly, if you just focus on the erotica. There has to be something else hooking you as well, otherwise the want to continue will fade.
I very much doubt that. You'll need a beast to run the emulated game, even though DX12 and Vulkan could ease up on the requirements. (PC)
The PS3 is not the same as emulating Xbox 360 games, and due to the mess (Cell) PS4 is simply not powerful enough to run the games properly.
This is exactly what i was worried about, and why i dislike where this is heading. Welcome to another step of the always online future.
Microsoft has the money to do it, and it's the strategy they've been using in the past as well. Of course not everything worked out as intended. Who knows what kind of competition they're buying next.
Indeed, we'll see the consequences of this in due time.
Microsoft would have to deal with Tencent, or some other Chinese company to get their hands on Unreal. I can't remember if it was Tencent that has a majority share in EPIC.
It has nothing to do with weakness. What happened is that people disagreed with the direction, and left to work elsewhere. I don't blame them, honestly.
