The largest map ever, with the repeated content of Just Cause 2. You can have the largest map in the world of gaming, but it's not really relevant if said content makes its way into the game again.
You have to remember the feature creep as well. They're trying to create several games in one, oh, and we have to add this and that as well. It has been touched on before, but the stretch goals became a bit ridiculous over time.
Chris Roberts most likely doesn't know what to do with all the money.
@SlappingOysters, last i heard was she's working on something Star Wars related currently.
Anyways, obviously the gameplay and powers can be improved upon, but it had an excellent story that carried the game far as well. Otherwise it wouldn't have been this popular today still.
At least they have more ships to sell you, so that should count as something, right? As i've already said elsewhere, i wouldn't be surprised if Chris Roberts mismanaged the money.
This is an example of why it pays off to be cautious.
Please don't mess up Legacy of Kain. I have a hard time believing, that CD has what it takes to make it, honestly. Look at what happened with the mass murderer in TR.
The Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun development was thankfully stopped, because that looked awful.
I'm kinda 50 / 50 on this, because you have to know the people behind the project and if they can be believed. This is harder when it's unknown kickstarter developers, because they have no past you can look into.
I always research games i'm interested in, and i was very, very cautious with something like Star Citizen because of this.
I'm not really surprised, honestly. Chris Roberts isn't really known for managing money that well.
I'm much more likely to believe someone like Mark Jacobs working on Camelot Unchained, because he has the experience and knows reality of funding development.
As long as they keep adding more to do other than getting new gear, like new mini games and such to Gold Saucer, then i'm sure people will continue to play.
People need some time off from killing as well, because eventually you just get tired of it.
Currently my character has level 30 Bard, Dragoon, Warrior, Monk, Gladiator and level 29 Rogue soon to be Ninja, and i'll eventually unlock the rest. It's a great timesink for me until my favored PvP g...
I don't really like Superman that much, but if anything needs to happen, it would be Superman vs Hulk instead of Batman. What's he going to do with his gadgets?
Devil May Cry is a prime example of terrible reboots, and it was a forced one because of Capcom's struggling mind. It was their own fault for not continuing development on DMC 4.
The spec requirements are not that surprising, considering the hardware needs for a proper 60 fps VR experience. Currently only the PC is capable of this, unless you drastically reduce the quality.
But then again, i personally wouldn't be buying it for Moton Controls, because it severely limits the games you can make with it.
Battlefront has a very, very high chance of having issues at launch. It's Dice after all, and they're limited by a tight schedule to get it out pronto.
Well, they obviously wanted to cater to the explosive action crowd, instead of what the past Lara did with limited action and more puzzles. She wasn't afraid of defending herself, but you can definitely see where they're going with this reboot.
I honestly didn't think about it that much, because after the initial sexy reveal, it's back to business and killing demons. It's still a shame that a lot of the DMC 4 content was cut, though.
It's like people are forgetting, that this is only possible with internet, and that removes offline gameplay from the equation. Not to mention no matter what connection you have, there'll always be input lag between you and the server somewhere.
Playing a game without depending on internet always wins, no doubt about it. The only games that can get away with this, is dedicated Multiplayer games and MMO's.
Don't be foolish enough to give up gam...
Gameplay in Diablo may have been limited, but the atmosphere was terrifying. Diablo 2 improved on that, and more with Lord of Destruction.
Now for the latest entry, atmosphere is pretty much gone and gameplay is slower compared to previously.
As much as i liked Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter, i think Sony's decision to change Uncharted made it available to a larger audience.
People do get it, they just don't accept it like the smart consumers they are.
Interesting chat about Uncharted, though i think it misses why it turned out as it did back when the first game released. Something along the lines of Sony wanting them to change the direction and graphics of the game, due to how popular the gritty shooters were at that point.
But then again, it's not unexpected that he didn't mention it.
So Microsoft aquires the leading physics tool, in order to eventually make their cloud version the dominant one. Where the hell is gaming headed?
