The reality is most people don't have the luxury to spend money on all the games they want, and most likely, PS3 owners chose Killzone2 over this. Whereas 360 owners had this and halo-wars, and chose Street Fighter.
edit: ok I didn't read the article entirely, my bad.
What we all want to know: Will there be a PS3 version day and date with the 360 one?
I'm pretty sure a 360 version of Huxley is on the back-burner right now they're just concerned with getting a PC version done ATM from what I've read. I wouldn't count on that game ever seeing a 360 release.
I have to say it but the trend seems to be:
MS is rushing development to fill their line-up and ensure profitability.
Sony is taking their time with their games, (albeit some of the 2007 stuff was rushed) and ensuring quality.
Needless to say it's finally catching up to MS. Microsoft needs to rethink their strategy (maybe they already have) if they want to remain competitive in game review scores.
Where are they going to get the funding for such an enormous project, or can they really do it with 47 guys? You'd have to think matching, or even besting what Crytek did would require an incredible amount of art assets and funding. I mean looking at the concept drawing, that's not the same texture over and over again for sure...
Mods on the current UT3 on PS3 are a chore to get working, glad to see they're fixing that, and split screen is really nice(seems like they used whatever coding they had in the 360 version on the ps3 one). Funny wheres the 360 version in all this?
While the web browser thing seems fake because of the ram restrictions, Why wouldn't it be possible to use the hard disk to run the web browser, albeit a little slow. And the PSP has a web browser that only has 32mb, but it works. I know it would be nice to have a game guide loaded up on the web browser, as you played through a game.
And I don't really see his point in all this has to be the 'big' 3.0 for voice features. Sony never did it that way before. '2.4' was the biggest ...
you bet I was gonna say the Music in streets of rage 1-3 was something that really hasn't ever found an equivalent in the industry yet. That soundtrack kicked ass, and you gotta have that in a beat-em-up.
I get the feeling he does play games, and he has a console of choice, but he knows his sites credibility would be put under great scrutiny if he admitted it.
8.6 - what they should of given GTA 4 in the first place. Considering its more of the same, its funny now they can show what they really think of the game.
Xbox Live and it's file size cap (Thank you 20gb pro 360) keeps xbox live Arcade from ever matching the polish of PSN exclusives (everything was capped at 50mb for the first 2 years, now they wont let them go over 200mb unless it's portal). Also, having to make a demo for every game costs developers money and time, they could and should have the option to use that toward making other games instead.
My 360 is loaded up with just about every 360 arcade demo there is, and I've ye...
Thing is the PS3 version has the anime movie that comes with it in blu-ray, the 360 one has a 720p version you have to play on a 360, which one would you prefer?
It's funny to me that making a game about rape is completely absurd and wrong, but games where you murder are actually fairly common and something we can tolerate. Why do we have double standards? I'm not saying this game is good in any way, I'm just making a point.
You may be surprised, Epic was rumored a long time ago to be making a PS3 exclusive, and it would make sense since they want people to see that their game engine can perform on PS3 well. While these guys partnered with MS on Gears, they also Partnered with Sony on UT3, I wouldn't say they're in MS's corner. You make it sound like MS owns epic.
Funny this guy completely forgets that Mirror's edge gave a completely free DLC level to PS3 owners exclusively this year. When Sony buys the content for their console, they give it away. When MS buys it, they ALWAYS charge.
I was looking forward to this game, but it uses the Rage engine, that's not good, especially if the game has the same slow GTA4 framerate. It might be alright if they can make a good storyline to go along with it.
I'm not against Killzone 2, I really want to play this game, but do you think it's possible in receiving a review copy of the game, these websites signed in contract they weren't allowed post their review if they scored it below 9/10, until a later specified date. However the review copies seem to be all over the place, so if this were the case someone probably would have leaked this info. I remember something about EA doing this with madden scores before.
so if a couple guys in your clan can't afford, u can just bum off one another ;) (the beauty of the PSN)
3 old 2 new maps sounds like the ratio I'd like to see. But seriously the presentation on this game needs a major facelift (from the starting in blackout, to the bland blue names, and the jerky menus, to the blank loading screen. Little things could do wonders for this game), which i doubt they'll fix. The gameplay is outstanding. I'm still surprised how bad this game bomb...
I bet they let the guy in the beret write the review and he gave it a 6.0 out of ten or so and the other guys won't let him publish it cause they know he's full of sh*t, so they're waiting on the bosses to intervene and not let this fanboy let his rage out.
I Think the reality is they're holding out on announcing a platform, (but it probably is in development for PS3 atm) because they're still trying to make a deal with Microsoft for exclusivity on 360; which probably won't happen considering how much money it would involve. And I think MS believes they got enough market share, and price advantage will be enough for them this gen.
