the maps are huge, each domination map actually has 16 different defending and 16 different attacking points -each one plays out differently. Each acquisition map has 8 of each.
I do agree they should add another 3 sabo maps though, I understand the undertaking it would be to make other aquisition or domination maps - so doubt that would ever happen.
I don't think you'll be proven wrong at e3 because MS isn't allowing cameras when they show off Natal... You'll just be hearing from selected individuals who liked it.
I could see it doing ok, and making a small profit without being a phone, but then they'd have to focus more on taking market share from Nintendo.
But if they want it to take off it needs full smart-phone capability with a roll-out keyboard, 3g, camera, ect..
Confrontation was low-budget.
I kinda think Insomniac should do that with Resistance3, but have the other 2 campaigns included with co op..
reminds me of both uncharteds and heavy rain.
If this takes off it's only the start, pretty soon games like CallofDuty and MetalofHonor will have codes as well; and rental will no longer be an option. Maybe they should have a free trial on each game for those renting and buying used.
Even though it sucked, don't forget they took the bribe to keep magna carta 2 off the PS3 as well. You whore yourself out for too long you lose what made yourself special before.
I don't remember many people saying 'it looks awesome and going to be better than gears' after the first footage of the game was shown actually.. It looked like crap. And that was prior to the 360 version being announced.
I actually think after the first time they showed it off as a PS3 exclusive, it was very underwhelming, and that triggered their decision to bring it multiplatform.
Come to think of it LFD could be cloned and even topped very easily, the game is pretty generic and graphically weak.
I think it's kind of funny people thought this would be something special after the first one bombed as well. How many the first one sold talks, not how the critics liked it.
It doesn't make sense for Sony to whore consoles they sell at a loss out to someone who doesn't buy any software... It was good for publicity at first, but now it's not going to do them any good. I do think Sony should have a custom firmware to mail out to people like this guy though to allow linux.
Game with almost no limits on content vs. game stuffed into 6.8 gb.. That's the biggest reason PS3 exclusives are more desired. Sony also doesn't let things out of the gate unpolished too often, which seems to be something all multiplats will do if they don't have a massive budget (Cod,GTA ect.)
I think another thing is a lot of multiplatform games skimp on the development time and budget, which Sony really doesn't do. Big budget multiplats are ok to buy us...
Start up time is really nothing to me, I just go get up take a piss, get a snack/drink whatever, surf the web for a bit, lots of things to occupy the start up time.. The in game loads will be frustrating though, makes you wonder if the massive customization makes that something you can't get around. LBP wasn't the fastest loading game from what I remember.
Sounds a little fishy as to why they're doing their own conference separate from E3 - it's most likely just so they can control the media leaving the event. Meaning Smoke and mirrors galore.. and no control latency readings. They know the skeptics will tear the technology apart.
Already got Woods11 pre-ordered, I'm really hoping it will outdo the wii motion+ version for accuracy instead of just copy/pasting what was done with wii.
The problem with Lag on Natal is, this is something that currently seems to plague the eyetoy - PSeye type technology. There's a lot of calculations that must be done in real-time, so it's hard to avoid it. Microsoft is trying to prove it's different than PSeye, but if there's lag it's hard to see controlling with your body being of practical use for gaming other than a party game where precision is overlooked - no different than Eyetoy. Both may have lag, but it's m...
There was a lot of talk about custom built and not middle-ware engines was the reason PS3 exclusives were on top visually. I guess that's not entirely the case now, this game was hyped to be a contender. I will say Forza 3 still looks great though. Maybe the strength of PS3 hardware does have some merit to it and it's not just the developers.
How much did Final Fantasy XIII cost to go multiplatform? Don't know if they'll be buying XIV, so that won't see 360 for a couple years.
You have to wonder what GTA IV would have been like using the full 25-50gb..
