@Orchard.....Not sure why you received downvotes for sharing facts. You are correct and not just in Videogames either. Pandemic has been a boon for anything online. But this type feeding frenzy always happens when supplies are tight......People just want more of what they can't have.

Good observation, with full price on games re-released again and again. They're laughing all the way to the bank.

@IRetrouk,
What I found interesting about your article was this paragraph.

Another example: Grand Theft Auto IV on the Xbox 360 version has sold 3,362,196 units as of April 2009 in the U.S., compared to 1,959,798 units for PlayStation 3. However, because X360 has a higher install base, GTAIV only has a 23% attach rate compared to 26.9% for the PS3 SKU (i.e., 26.9% of PS3 owners and 23% of X360 owners purchased the title). In brief, a console has a tie ratio while ...

So I was replying to your first statement which was focused the PS3/Xbox360 era. Not on some of the bad decisions they (MS) would make later. You have stated that MS had NEVER Beaten Sony and again I challenge that notion. If your just going by the number of total Consoles sold, then you would be right, because they ultimately did surpass the 360. But during Xbox 360 era, MS regularly beat them in software units sold (where the real money is) and in units sold. The PS3 didn't make a profi...

I disagree. Though not as big as rrod, which I went through 2 Xboxs. I also went through two PS3 in a two week period( yellow death). I do have both today. Also, your point that MS had never beat Sony, yet during that generation, games sold more, played better ( certain titles), and better graphics for most of that generation( especially third parties). They also had a more feature rich interface. Heck you couldn't even cross talk on the PS3. So looking at it as just the pure numbers of...

I would imagine since MS waited for the full rdna2, which held them up for some months, could be part of the problem. Since rdna2 is new I would speculate that it's harder to produce than existing modified tech. Plus combine that with chip demand going through the roof, and the problem of newer architectures yield rates not being as good. Again, speculation on my part but that's the point, nobody really knows outside of MS and AMD.

I'm actually excited to see the new VR. Content will be important, but if done right could make Sony the main destination spot for VR.

Well, as long as they keep it supplied with good games then I believe they will make it.

It was a great console though the red ring did put a dent in it. But it was a console of many firsts. Gamer score, arcade, friends lists, cross chat even if you weren't in the game or play a different one. So many great features and the start of so many games we play today.....I remember when they showed Gears and I finally felt like next generation games had arrived....But they somewhat fizzled in the end. But they did come out with the very excellent Halo Reach game. Alot of good memori...

So in the article it says, Sony pumped alot of money into his company and his wealth went from under 5 billion to over 7 billion in a few short weeks........Looks Like MS isn't the only one forking the big dollars for games.

Wow, didn't expect to see such high loses. But like everything, you have to pay to play, especially with the big boys.

Everything shared so far is pointing to a solid addition to the series. I'm really interested in the villains this time around and from what they have showed so far, feels fresh and not just a rehash. Can't come quick enough.

I agree partially, your right that it wasn't his idea alone. MS had already been doing this for year's with Office. Also, behind any successful leader theirs a great team. Heck, Steve jobs didn't create the iPhone, he had a very general idea about what it would be and their were already full screen phones that existed prior to the iphone. But it was his team that came up with the form factor and software to make a device that changed everything in that field. Do we credit his team...

To each their own, but they know they have much, much more riding on this. I don't believe it will be a letdown but I don't expect anything revolutionary. Just a very solid Halo experience.

N4G loves this guy! Judging by all the comments he generates on any articles about him. The Sony fanboys love to hate him.....enjoy the fireworks.

Everyone has some valid points. But that is what competition does, it drives innovation. Would MS be as focused on backwards compatibility had the Xbox1 been successful? Probably not, but that is what happens when your on the ropes. You reinvent yourself and push forward. That's what MS has done. It not about how or the why, that's the past. It's about the Now and the benefits of having a strong backwards compatible ecosystem. Ultimately it benefits all.
