Nice list.
Hey I'd rather they take the time to make a great game. That's one of the reasons they sold to MS. To have the support and time to make a better game.
Yet in Sony's own documentation, they say that speeds of installed cards will not be guaranteed. They've provided no list of which drives will actually meet all criteria......with the Xbox you slap it in and go. Pull it out, switch to a different machine (hot swappable) ....instant. Can't do that with the Sony's solution. Both solutions have merits, but to act like Sony has made this easy, is just turning a blind eye.
That's a surprise. Nice
Expensive solution and pricier than Xbox storage.....ouch.
Looks fun and different.
Alot of reviews Ive seen have given it descent scores. Looking forward to playing this game.
Lots of interesting banter going on. From what I've read it seems Xbox is doing well overall.
As for the Series S being on the shelves.....who cares? They were designed to be cheaper and easier to build, so no surprise there. More of them, equal units readily available. As for the numbers.....who cares? This is one quarter and a 4% drop is not doom and gloom. Now, if it's a loss quarter after quarter, that would paint a much different picture.
Again, alot ...
I think it looks amazing. Usually with games like this, their's a big hit on graphics coming from PC. But the X really holds it's own.
Funny how nobody is talking about battery life? How long is a Doom type going to last? Battery life will make or break the Steam Deck.
Well to be fair, no one has played it beyond some of the press. So to say it can't be game of the year is a little to premature.
I agree, any business wants to fill all buckets. I honestly don't see this hurting either company. I just believe MS has more potential to capitalize on this particular situation, however slight it may be. Recurring profits will trump one time sales as long as the numbers( installed base) are there. But in the Big picture, it's small potatoes. Either way, glad Steam did this.
I agree, it's nice to have an intelligent exchange of views. Especially, here on N4G. But as y...
Fair point, I really don't see this affecting sales of consoles. But MS could benefit by the fact people will be able to load up Gamepass on the device. Of course, you would need to install windows to do that. But if you did, you could have both Steam and Gamepass on the same device, plus buy whatever Sony releases for PC. With MS subscription service they would be getting monthly pay no matter the device. With Sony you might buy a game or two of some thing you really liked, but thats a ...
I think it hurts the PS5 more than Series X. You can load windows on this device, therefore you can have Gamepass. So, it hurts Xbox less because they aren't relying on pure console sales.
@russo121. So when MS came out with a controller specifically for handicap people, who's lead were they following? Last I checked, nobody else has done it. So there is an innovation for you, not counting things like , gamer score, broadband (OG Original), arcade, ect, ect....but keep reaching.
It was a good game, but to say it was the pinnacle of the 3rd person, is a bit of an overstatement. You would pull the trigger and all the bad guys go practically stationary, making for easy kills. Rinse and repeat. It was fun but I personally consider Gears of War and Splinter cell games a better example of the top of the heap 3rd person games. Especially the A.I. in the gears series.
For me the interface was fresh, interesting and innovative. Cross chat, having your own music playing while in game, Gamer score, Arcade, top notch controller, face plates, and it had a ton of games. Was a great Console, which I played a majority of my games on.
Saw the trailer on this game and the gameplay and world looked like it would be worth the time to play it. Nice review.
Butcher Bay was great. From the prolog, fist fighting, knife fights and story. The immersion of the whole package really uped the criteria of what a cutting edge game was back then. I would like another adventure with Riddick, but it would have to be triple A status to live up to Butcher Bay.
Great system, F-Zero was my favorite quick pick up and play. I remember the green blood Mortal Kombat controversy, seems trivial by today games. Of course Mario, Link and crew were great games as well. Gaming seemed a lot simpler and less toxic back then. Anyways, had a lot of fun on the system.
