Nice pickup for Sony. It will be real interesting to see what type of game they come up with. I imagine Sony was able to get a glimpse of that game and snatched them up. Perfect fit.
It seems to me a lot of people making comments have no clue on what the article really says. Instead, focused on the very last paragraph of Phils statements. Because if they had read it they would have read this:
"We also added more than 100 titles in Game Pass from partners in Japan, and it has really helped the Xbox community find games that maybe they haven’t played in the past through an easy mechanism, but it’s not about big developers."
&...
They should change the the Name to:
Star Citizen: Journey through the money abyss!
Nice equipment
The spin people try and do on this website.
1. Nobody knows what the real deal is, just pathetic and hilarious attempts by a few to troll.
2. Small studio, big game if you go by AAA standards. They want to keep the core team small.
3. Their is a strong connection to Crystal Dynamics. As the studio head is from their operation.
My take, they have a very ambitious game and needed help to get it done. They brought in someone familiar and who could ...
@ABizzel1 I agree with alot of what you've said, though not sure about MS purchasing them. What a lot of people on here are missing is the size of "The Initiative". They're only about 60 people and as talented as they are, for 60 people to make a Triple A game would be a massive undertaking. If you factor this, then it also makes sense.
Looks good to me, hopefully it lives up to it's wonderful visuals.
Yes, I loved the first game. I really hope they have a good budget to everything they want into it. A lot of found memories battling ships in the multi player.
They really have never had a bad one. I don't see that trend staring now.
I'm with you and honestly, how many of those games do you have the time to play? People today have so many games to play. Back in the 80S, 90S and early 2000s you were lucky to have 1 to 5 games a year that were worth playing. Some incredible titles still coming out this year. I have a back log of games I haven't even touched yet. Gamers have never had it so good.
Nail biting game....good times
I think the difference was that Sony started that studio. So they were never owned by the guys leading the Liverpool studio. Firesprite was started and owned by those employees. Sony buying them brings them back to a familiar environment and as we've seen from MS buying Bethesda, relationship are important. Plus, bonus for them, they are getting one heck of a paycheck for selling to Sony.
Amazing, almost everything in one shot
Nice to see Sony re-tooling some old talent with new talent. They must have something good cooking in the oven for Sony to do a reset.
Well it's not MS fault on this delay. The dev will get some extra time to put more spit and polish into the expansion. Should be worth the wait.
Sounds like it's worth playing.
Steaming full ahead
Had alot of fun with that game. Instead of a remake a new game would be better.
I think it just looks like a lot of fun to play.
The power of the cloud makes it possible to reach that many people....impressive.
I watched an interview with Phil and another exec from one of their studios. The exec let slip that Game Pass was at Thirty million, then Phil tried to play damage control. The growth is impressive and adding these other countries will only add to the total.
