The article that you cited, said this was a standard practice when one company buys another. What I suspect with the Bungie deal, that it was part of the deal to retain the board for the sale to proceed.

The CEO is John Riccitiello, you know the one who thinks your a dumbass for not adding in micro transactions. Nuff said.

Not surprised in the least. With the cancel culture the internet is full of entitled people spewing crap because they don’t like said person, place, or thing.
But companies have egged this on by responding or even firing people.

If I could afford to do that I would just for the novelty of the experience. I would pick a nice long route to make it worth it.

Imagine on a flight to some distant place. You say to the person next to you, “excuse me I’d like to get my portable ps5 from the overhead compartment”. Which they reply, “I didn’t know they made a portable one!?” Which you reply, “yes they do and I hope you like playing video games because it’s going to be sitting on my lap and yours!” ……lol I kid, but as big as the PS5 is I wouldn’t call this a reasonable portable solution.

Looks good and they still have 11 months to go.

While it is a big purchase, their is now so much more competition in the market compared to ten years ago.

True it wasn’t phenomenal, but at least in the past their past portables were good.

When it comes to portables, battery life is key. That’s part of why Nintendo handhelds have been so successful. It’ll be interesting to see how it holds up in the wild.

My favorite was Riddick escape from Butch Bay prelude. You think your starting the game, escaping right off the bat. But after about 5-10 minutes of gameplay your pulled out of the game to find out Riddick was just dreaming and your still on the bounty hunters ship. It was a nice surprise.

@SoonDeadByOldAge
I was speculating without diving deeper on their website. That said, a lot of companies start in one thing and end up in something different but similar or a completely different venture.
Just look at Nintendo, they started out making playing cards. Just saying one can lead into the other. But again I’ll read up on their history. Have a great weekend.

I’d have to check more into it but as I recall back in 2000-2002 timeframe I’m pretty sure eye scanning was becoming a thing for security. Also, a lot of experiments with controlling your computer with your eyes for the handicap. I’ll have to read up on it when I get the chance.

Checked out the company and they have a 20 year track record in eye tracking. Everything from games to cars, smart move on Sonys part.

It all comes down to price and as alway content. Not that Sony doesn’t know that, but if the price is right and they come out with good content. Then I can see it making a bigger splash in sales with console gamers.

Well since I don’t have hard data to either refute or a agree with your opinion. I’ll stand by what I’ve said. But that is really where the problem arises. Nobody knows for sure how much crunching goes on and how widespread it is. One persons experience at one company does not speak for the whole.
As for delays, can you provide data that supports your claim that with that extra time they are crunching? I’m not saying your wrong but opinion vs hard facts and obviously hard facts are ...

Crunching has been going on forever and will probably not go away anytime soon. But funny how you all want to make this such a big deal. At least In the U.S. I know tons of people who work 12 hour days 6 days a week at factories and small industrial sites. In condition that aren’t some nice comfortable, air conditioned office space.
My point is, this is nothing unique to this industry and plenty of people work shitty long hours for much less pay in other industry.

At least on the m9 monitor IGN gave it a 9.0 out of 10. It’s a good read.

Switch is closing in on the PS4 but they really need some big hitters this upcoming holiday. Hopefully we get some surprises tomorrow.
