Surprised? I think its more the dissapointment that one of our childhood developers are turning their back at us, I have a lot of fond memories playing their games from the late 80' and 90', it' a sad thing to behold this company go ape shit.

I had hopes for this game, but they got squashed.
Can't say I agree with your statement, sure there are bad apples on any console but generally speaking, Gamecube had a lot of great looking games. The resolution might not be as great, but the graphical fidelity and artstyle, and not to speak of the animation (plays a great part of the "look" of the game) are still holding up in a lot of Gamecube titles.
