Noughty Dog is overrated, they have been innovating almost nothing, they use the same formula for their games. Compare the on rails climbing in uc4 to breath of the wild for example.

Filler is content that is not fun, side quests and stuff like that needs to be entertaining or it should just not be in the game imo. If a game starts to feel like work you're doing something wrong.
No wonder game reviewers fear giving low scores (it's not even bad scores for this game), the fanboys are ready with the pitchforks in no time. I'm sure most people have not played the game and still they complain about reviewers doing their job.
I would not have a problem with this if it meant no microtransactions, but publishers will keep milking us dry for every penny they can get.
I did not like the game, in fact it is one of the biggest let downs. Maybe b/c I had very high expectations based on the first game.
But with that said, the people who goes on twitter and use death threaths are the worst.
gigzamillion: yes, in fact I have already convinced a lot of people not to buy it. The game is a big let down, and saving people from spending their hard earned cash is an honor for sure. 🙄
