PS4 and Bone will share 90% of the same library, give or take a couple percentage points. So yeah there is no need to own both, especially at launch.
Smarter to buy the cheaper unit now and wait for the more expensive unit to build a library of exclusives and a price drop/revision before buying into it.
Pretty silly marketing ploy, chances are if one is sold out it may sway them to the other, and if a family is dead set on a new console and both are pretending to be sold out they will just grab a likely discounted Wii U. This strategy only works when you are the sole system like the 360 was. Or with the Wii which was over half the price of it's competitor that released at the same time. If it is a ploy especially from Microsoft they would probably be hurt by it unless they are just an...
For the first time since the Virtual Boy one of the gimmicks you threw against the wall didn't stick.
The spies didn't tell us, the whistleblower did, which is why the spies want his head now.
Phil Spencer is a likeable public figure?
$500+$400+$350=$1250 before you even get to play a game. That doesn't seem very bright to me. And when you consider 90% of what the Xbox offers will also be available on the PS4 it makes that $500 that much harder to swallow.
PS4 has a great day 1 price so it is the smart buy for launch. While the Wii U and Xbox One need dramatic price cuts before consideration in my opinion. So yeah a real gamer will own all 3 eventual, but the savvy real gamer will wait to own all 3...
uh oh, lukewarm review, could this be sticker star all over again?
It wasn't just the Xbox One reveal, Xbox has been pretty stagnant for about 4 years now, pretty much about the time Mattrick took over. I just think the Xbox One reveal opened a lot of people's eyes to the train wreck that Don truly was.
Maybe you have nothing to hide today, but what if something you're doing now is deemed illegal in the future and because they have data of you doing it in the past they can retroactively prosecute you?
Or say you're a party type of guy now, but you clean yourself up in the future and are vying for a high profile position. Well your opponent or someone in their camp has access to this past information and decides to discredit you with it.
These are ju...
Last I checked it wasn't Sony who stole peoples credit card information, but rather some a-hole hacker and unlike Microsoft who is voluntarily giving your information away, the PSN hack was done without Sonys knowledge. Nice try though.
@ironwolf: rootkits, while an a-hole move by Sony, weren't put there to data mine your personal data, they were put there to protect Sonys intellectual property. What Microsoft is doing with the NSA does nothing of the sort, so it&...
There's a reason Microsoft didn't make a point equate to 1 penny, it's to give the illusion that you're spending less. 400 points feels less than $5 and when you scale it up to 1600 points, it seems closer to $15 than $20. Of course the math is easy, but it's still psychological trickery.
Was thinking the same thing, if this was done in the new Tomb Raider engine, it would be fantastic. But this looks like a PS2 game.
Agree with everything you said, and want to add, the music sounds fantastic, can't wait!
Also since Desmond was wrapped up in AC3, will we get introduced to subject 18? Or will this be like Liberation and they leave it a mystery?
November 3rd is a Sunday, doesn't seem likely to be the launch date, nothing attractive about the date or the day of the week. I still think that it's going to be the 7 day window from October 22 - October 29. PS2 launched on Thursday October 26th so I'm assuming something very close to this date. Also note that retail holiday season starts in October, so when Sony says holiday season, October falls within that window.
Retail holiday season starts October 1st. So when Sony said holiday 2013 they likely meant in the window of October 1st - November 29th. (black Friday)
I still think Sony is going to try and launch the same time the PS2 launched which was October 26th 2000. So I believe they will release in the 1 week window of October 22nd - October 29th.
I'll un give up on it when it can be had for $200. That doesn't mean they need to drop it that low, just need a sale or promotion that brings it down that low. Figure a $100 price drop and a $50 sale doesn't seem to far fetched.
This guy is such a Microsoft fanboy/apologist. Not sure why so many of his videos get posted here.
The problem with the camera being removed at the last moment theory. Microsoft priced probably as high as Sony or anyone thought they would go, so what was the plan if Microsoft announced a lower price? Leave the camera in and have an even less competitive advantage?
These theories carry no weight. But like others have said even if these rumors were accurate, they were the right move to make.
@joecanada: "There are plenty of companies out there who respect their consumers and treat them well ... If you think thats a foreign concept you are buying from the wrong companies."
Love this statement! I find it funny that it's Microsoft fanboys that continually are the ones saying corporations don't care about you and are only after your money. I wonder why they feel this way.
Ryse, Dead Rising 3: Did not look great at e3, will need reviews before they can be considered impressive.
Quantum Break, Halo 5, Black Tusk game, Sunset Overdrive: will likely not be here within a year.
Titanfall, Project Spark: Available on PC.
Wow Microsoft... just wow.
