Are people still buying this cloud "marketing" nonsense?
Edit: I know the cloud is real, but it's not something limited to Microsoft.

Microsoft will need to get this out as early as possible, earlier than the PS4, because once game comparisons come in and the word gets out that the games are inferior on the Xbox One, people will cancel pre orders and jump to the PS4.
When you get a game free or pay 99 cents for it microtransactions make perfect sense. But when you add them to a premium title that someone shells out $60 for it's a slap in the face to the customer.
With that said these tactics only survive if people buy into them, so sadly there are people supporting these actions with their wallets and it's hard to blame devs for taking advantage of these fools no matter how unethical it may be.

Microsoft has already demonstrated they have no problem raising the price of gold when they bumped it up from $50 to $60 all while adding no value to the subscription.
Microsofts next 180 needs to be moving everything except multiplayer in front of the paywall and offer free games every month, then they will have a service with value. ...
Is there any proof to the theory that gaming suffers when there is one console that dominates?
I would argue that the best gaming generations came when a single console dominated. Just look at the NES, SNES, PS1 and PS2 generations. Those consoles owned the market and consumers didn't suffer for it.
When devs have to develop the same game for 3 or 4 platforms it takes time and resources away from new projects.

These 3rd party devs are in a tough position because they still need to sell their product on the inferior console, so they can't come out and say one version is better than the other.
I can't wait until these machines are in the open and we get real world comparisons of the same title running on each system, that's when things will get interesting.

I'm American and I don't forgive them. And I never got my 360 because it was an American product. In fact my favorite genre is JRPGs. Not sure where country pride to consoles came from as it barely exists for any products these days.
Love this model just for the fact that if my launch 60gb with replaced 750gb hard drive ever ylod it will be a cheap purchase. Just pull the hard drive from the dead model and slap it into this one and all is good for cheap.
Well except I don't like the look and top loading of this model, so I would likely buy the model before this off of CL or eBay, but still like having the option.
No, because they aren't making the changes by choice, they are being forced to make them because people are voting with their wallets. Anyone who thinks these changes would have come about had there been insane preorder numbers is drinking the green kool aid.

I'd argue that Microsoft has not appeared to be a "smart" company as of late, and it's not just the Xbox division that is suffering.

@Death: We are already talking about paying for the service and what's included with that payment. With PS+ you aren't paying additional funds on top of the subscription fee, so hence they are free with the service. Quit trying to spin and twist things to favor your side of the argument, it makes you look silly.
