It's possible that Heavy Rain may be pushed back, but Quantic Dream and Sony have stated numerous times that they are looking forward to a 2009 release. I don't mind delays because it usually gives the developer adequate time to polish and put the finishing touches on the game. Sony has given David Cage the freedom to make the game that he has always envisioned. So I have confidence that the game will be finished when it is indeed finished.

The only adventure game that I have ever played is Indigo Prophecy so I am not very knowledgeable in the adventure genre. I do know that Heavy Rain is set to be a great game imo. I am also looking forward to Alan Wake and what it has to offer (for what its worth to you). You should concentrate on supporting good games. U may prefer the 360, but you are missing out on so much by ignoring/despising the PS3. I've read plenty of your posts to know your opinion regarding Sony platforms. What does ...

It's not an opinion of Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain being in the adventure genre, its a fact. Now whether the two of you "felt" like you were on adventures during Indigo Prophecy is entirely up for debate because it is your opinions. My point of mentioning these two titles is because they both fall under the "Adventure" GENRE. Not trying to sound demeaning or anything felluhs, just backing up my original point. I am going to disagree with the both of you regarding these ...

While the majority, all adventure games are not point and click. Many people think this is true of the upcoming adventure games.

Well I am glad to see someone excited about this game. It is by far my most anticipated game...EVER. The positive impact that this game may possibly have on our beloved industry is a great thing for all gamers. Heavy Rain could single handedly bring the videogame medium on par with the movie industry as far as mainstream notoriety and being looked upon as a form of "artistic expression." Imagine for a moment, videogames receiving the types of age ratings that movies' receives. ...

EDIT: A disagree? But I tell you, a voice just whispered to me and it said very softly in my left ear "Hello." I was just as shocked as anyone would be. But I was relieved when that same voice said that I should expect more pertinent information on Heavy Rain at GDC and/or E3.

Heavy Rain says hello. But to be fair guys, Uncharted (while a masterpiece) isn't a true adventure game; it's an "Action-Adventure" game. Adventure games are Indigo Prophecy/Heavy Rain. The Playstation franchise is about to REDEFINE the adventure genre Mr. Cecil.

"This lizzard is a trick! The game's actually about bikini clad japanese school girls who travel back to the time of dinosaurs and their feet morph into chain-saw blades which is vital to their survival as dinosaurs have learned how to spew napalm from their eyesockets and ride around on hover boards in this new exciting action based RPG.

Get the Resident Evil Remake for the Gamecube. It doesnt sound like many of you have gotten a chance to experience that game yet. The way they remade the mansion is unbelievably atmospheric. The graphical fidelity, mood, music, lighting...EVERYTHING. It is the old Resident Evil as we all grew up on. Don't forget that you can still play it in your Wii. If you played the original Resident Evil or the Directors cut back in the mid 90's, you have truly missed an incredible remake to a classic fra...

I think that it is a good thing that they are getting rid of that stupid parry. That was one of my main complaints about Round 3. Summer can't get here soon enough.

Interesting blog reads. I read both blogs in their entirety and must say that you have a strong opinion regarding that. Time will certainly tell though. The bad taste that the 360 has left in my mouth regarding failures of its hardware will forever be with me. I am not looking forward to ANY other system that Microsoft has a part in. With that said, I did enjoy myself when I had a workable console. Whether or not they make a new one; I could care less.

PERIOD. A developer that puts all his effort into a quality game exclusively for the PS3 is going to have better results than a developer that has to multitask with platforms. This has been proven time and time again. This could probably be said for the 360 as well when it comes to multiplatform games...probably. ;-)

Does it have english voiceovers or is it just english subtitled? I have been waiting for a US release, but I may have to import it.

Now everyone can clearly see the biase that I've been witnessing since November of 2006. I'm used to this type of stupidity now. I just laugh as I contemplate about all of the epic Sony games I will be purchasing. Ahh Heavy Rain, Infamous, Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank 2, Team Ico game, GOW 3, GT5, DC Online, The Agency, White Knight Chronicles, Afika, Demon's Soul, Yakuza 3, MAG!! Need I continue...?

This was a very thought out and well written article. Kudos to the author for having an open and "mature" mind on the subject. I do still enjoy the sex scenes in the God of War series however. Sue me. Lol.

I think that a good strategy for publishers like Sony would be to have their own used stores for special incentives. If you can't beat em, beat em at their own game. I do all that I can NOT to buy/support used game sales and purchases. I support all of my favorite developers and publishers in the hobby that I have enjoyed most of my life by buying my favorite titles new. Saving $5-$10 is only hurting the industry in the long run imho.
