I just picked up a 2000. There was too much uncertainty, especially being so close to launch.
Sony really needs to clarify a few things. If I knew what was going to happen with the UMDs and what games were going to be available at launch I'd probably have a Go pre-ordered right now.
I bought an old dusty Daxter PSP-2000 bundle at Rogers Video here in Canada for $130. I picked up a 16 gb memory card for $90, so I saved a few bucks over the PSP GO, got a bigger screen, a UMD drive and I can get all of the wonderful bonus items that come packed in with the UMD versions of games (soundtracks, artbooks, etc.).
^^^@Kamikaze135: The PSP-3000 screen is brighter with better contrast. However, some people say there is an aliasing problem. The reviewer at IGN couldn'...
I paid $50 Canadian to pre-order the UMD version of Persona PSP. Not only to I get a case, UMD and printed instruction manual, but I get the 2-disc soundtrack too. Worth $50? I think so. But when I look at the PS store and see $40 downloads I think, "Not worth it."
I would rather have BC than this, but you've got to admit, this is pretty good too.
I just returned my unopened PS2 copies of GOW 1 & 2 (I've yet to experience a GOW game), so bring on the Blu-Ray!
I just paid $70 for a copy of Ico, so if they put out a Team Ico disc for $40 like the GOW compilation, that would be a phenomenal deal.
It's "hypocrites," not this guy:

I do agree with you, however.
I just got back from pre-ordering this game from EB. I had originally pre-ordered it from Amazon.ca, but the expected delivery date was between Oct. 1 - 6. No way, I want it day one!
The two-disc soundtrack included with the UMD version is reason enough to put off picking up a PSP Go.
Every time I throw that knife into the back of someone's head, I'll be pretending it's Bobby Kotick.
This is the game that made me buy a UMD-equipped PSP over the PSP Go.
With the retail version of the game you get the full 2-disc soundtrack for the same price as the downloadable version.
Atlus really knows how to take care of their fans.
Fück yeah! I bought a PSP 2000 and pre-ordered this on UMD so I can get the 2-disc soundtrack.
I'm about 32 hours into Persona 4, which totally kicks ass, and I'm really looking forward to this game.
Plus, Persona 3 PSP is coming out in November. It's a good time to be a PSP owner.
Me after updating:
"Oooh...sparkly!"
"Oh look, ads."
"According to this, I played Ghostbusters recently. It's true."
"All right, time for a new avatar – see you later Nathan Hale! Hmmm...for premium avatars, go to the PS Store – okay. No avatars here either."
"Oooh...premium themes! $2.99? I don't even own Little Big Planet."
"Well, guess that's about it." ...
All this stuff sounds pretty cool, a little gimmicky, but as long as the game is balanced it'll be a helluva good time!
And if you don't like it just go back to CoD4.
SHADES OF SCORPIUS!
I just bought both of those games, they're still in the wrapper.
Oh well, I'll buy this one too.
I agree, it's going to kick ass.
I just wish that when I pre-ordered it I didn't feel so dirty.
Fücking Activision.
I found a PSP 2000 Daxter bundle at Rogers here in Canada for $130 and a 16 gb memory stick for $90.
It saved me $30 over a PSP Go, plus I have a UMD drive and a bigger screen.
Good enough for me.
I agree 100%. I basically missed last generation and I'm in the process of snapping up as many sealed classic PS2 titles as I can.
One thing I've learned: Get 'em while you can, because these games aren't going to be around forever.
I don't understand how they can sell used games for five bucks less than a new one. Are people that cheap? And then they get you to pay another three dollars to guarantee it. WTF! Buy new, people!
Damn right!
Yeah, well in the Best Buy flyer here in Canada they have the Drake's Fortune bundle listed at $499 when it's $399 in my local store.
Playstation getting the short end of the stick in the BB flyer is nothing new. PS3 always gets half or less of the space that Xbox does, if it gets any at all.
But there is some good news, in the store the PS3 slims are right at the front door, and PS3 games get as much shelf space as Xbox now.
*Sigh* Microsoft, how about you try making your own exclusives instead of just throwing wads of cash at third-party companies. Then I'd have a reason to pick up an Xbox instead of just being pissed that I'm being deprived of content on my console of choice.
