@kayoss
Yes it is their fault because game design can be manipulative and some succumb to that manipulation.
MTX use phsychological triggers to incentivize players. Add on top game design that pushes the player in that direction and yes it is 100% the devs fault.
how about keep the price and MTX situation the same. I've grown accustomed to shift through the shit. No need to raise any prices.
But of course a director of a game studio would love more money.
Pretty darn sure the extra money will go straight to the higher ups and the grunts will not see much of a difference if any.
Game industry costs have not increased. That is a myth. Obviously if you hire 10,000 developers you'll have to...
@Marty
In real life testing is required for a vaccine. Surgery would have to be successful and the vaccine would have taken quite a long time to develop assuming it would have even been effective. I also highly doubt that the virus would be killed considering it mutates differently depending on unknown factors.
My point is although Joel was selfish they did want to do the surgery without Ellie's consent. That's horrible practice and only God wann...
@ for all below
For whatever reason it appears I can't critique a story based on what I've play thus far. Playing with the second character when I wrote my previous comment.
To clarify my statement while I understand I should complete the game i think it would be considered a failure if you have to get to the very end before it comes together. Imagine reading a book, not liking it, and being told to read it through to the end anyways.
Yes...
Story/acting/emotional impact is all derived from the story...that's all one part of the game not separate parts.
There's gameplay, story , sound, music.
Not if you play on easy. I can imagine encounters taking a lot less time when playing on easier modes. The loop is essentially walking with story bits from point a to b and then face encounter. That in itself doesn't take long at all. Not to mention you can skip encounters by rushing through.
Everyone is aware that the story doesn't have to be according to the fans preference and that they should do as they please.
But that doesn't mean that the story they decided on is good. Freedom to create what you want comes with the freedom to dislike it.
I'm liking it thus far.
If the story challenges your emotional intelligence then you should read more. Lots more.
This is so far pretty standard. I believe I'm half way through and found the first half somewhat interesting. Maybe it will all come together at the end.
With regards to the topic. Why should Nintendo be accountable for the performance of games from other developers?
All Nintendo developed games, as far as I know, perform perfectly. In fact they're usually 100% bug free.
Also as a result the majority don't buy those poor performing games on the switch.
My brother has a switch and a PS4 he plays nintendo exclusives on the switch and everything else on the ps4.
Im not sure players are giving Nintendo a pass especially since it isn't Nintendo that is being given the pass but the developers for the game that has poor performance.
Nintendo is not responsible for the performance of games outside their jurisdict...
And what if the next thing is eating chicken?
What if someone bad says eating chicken is a symbol of white supremacy?
There are things to take seriously and things that we shouldn't take seriously. And in all situations context matters. This situation is very similar to that of socialist/communist countries where certain actions are banned. Freedom of expression is suppressed. Always in the name of good of course.
Well...the English language is native to people that enslaved others.
Good luck getting around that you fools.
And there will be more people cutting back which results in less sales.
And more used game sales of course.
Well then be ready to pay more.
If they raise the normal price...you don't think they'll raise the deluxe price?
I can see it now.
70$ normal game
$90-100 deluxe edition
And then all the other editions that go higher.
Quality won't go up, mtx's will stay and there will be even more season passes then before.
It's more like supply and demand.
When a game doesn't sell they go down in price.
If they go up in price they will see a surge in used sales and therefore receive less money. The PC market will also see a rise in pirated games.
No it will not. The industry has gone that path all on its own because they want to make money for a longer period of time instead of only the initial price tag.
More and more indie developers are showing that good games and very good looking ones can be produced with a smaller team.
Games nowadays are less complete and have more BS. Some may fork over $70 but many others will not and will be pushed towards the used game market.
No. Shut up.
You may not have a problem dishing out more money but it would be a problem for many others.
I want to support my favourite devs but not if they disrespect me. I'm not bending over for them.
Just selling 1million copies covers those costs and more.
Game costs have not gone up. Production costs go up willingly. With it comes the possibility of higher earnings.
