Any model without dramatic lighting or static lighting looks bland.
A bunch of unrealistic static shadows makes tlou2 look as good as it does. The devs here have decided to keep only with the expensive dynamic lighting and with a dynamic day and night cycle that appears to be the culprit and what will look as bland models.
Ray tracing will hopefully make the game look much better. I do hope they take the feedback and try to improve it as much before launc...
That really depends on how fast you play.
I'm personally going to take my time as there aren't any upcoming games I'm looking forward to play until next gen.
Even with an infinite amount of second chances.
Right ...could just be PC
Except the game was being developed for the Xbox one. Ray tracing is not possible on that console.
The digital foundry analysis goes in depth regarding the issues. Primarily the only issue is the lighting. The texture pop in will likely be resolved by launch. And with the lighting it's actually real time which looks good when the light creates shadows but when it's all in shadow it looks bland which I believe was an issue with gran turismos real time lighting as wel...
I'll buy the ps5. The Xbox showcase has convinced me that I should wait for the good games to release halfway through the gen before investing in the next gen Xbox.
Quite frankly it's Phil Spencer's fault for not tempering expectations. They should have kept the Xbox series x launch lineup more to themselves and showed halo Infinite as and Xbox one game and then announce that it would also be available on the series x.
Instead they hyped it up as a series x title more than an Xbox one title.
Go ahead and conveniently ignore
Returnal, project Athia, demon souls, and ghostwire Tokyo ( not too sure about this last one)
What a load of crap journalism right here. This is called manipulating information.
Seems like an adventure horror game. Interesting.
Here is a complete list of the two shows from ps5 and Xbox.
The x signifies an exclusive. This is not meant to be a complete list of announced titles but only a comparison. The notes in parenthesis are strictly for myself.
Also to note is that the ps5 generally had a lot more actual gameplay in their show compared to the lack of gameplay on the Xbox showcase.

Gran Turismo 7x

The lack of acceptance of others opinions and/or subjectivity of a topic is not childish.
Being able to be subjective doesn't not make a person not a child in attitude and maturity.
There's millions of subjective people that are still acting like children.
Digital foundry came out with a detailed analysis. Hopefully the game looks better with the ray tracing patch for Xbox series x.
Considering this game has to run on the Xbox one, 60 fps will be quite something for that weak console.
The analysis at least explains to me why at times the details looked good but many other times it looked bland.
Still doesn't explain using an old version and why they wouldn't use a PC with ray trac...
Right...because battle royal sounds exactly like the direction to take this right?
Not for me. I waited for the updates. Not wasting anymore time on a dead horse.
Imagine that not being the borm and people have to make an investment on only one console because of money issues.
They're so clueless. Just close down the studio already and focus on helping the devs find new jobs in other studios.
Sad to see bioware go but that's the reality.
A demo is usually released in a state close or the same as the finished product.
It's not a lot of time depending on when that pre alpha build was from. If it was from a year ago or 6 months ago then it is plenty of time as they would be far ahead of what was shown.
Not knowing when the build was from makes it impossible to tell but I highly doubt they would show something that isn't close to what the game looks like now
My thumbs have fallen asleep waiting to play the game.
Agreed. Since it's really only a couple of games which frankly has been the case with every generational transition. It's not right to claim it is crossgen since it is only doing what other consoles have already done before through remasters and re-releases.
Cross gen is no longer a valid argument in talks about which consoles will be able to take advantage of the SSD. Although there is still more going in favor of ps5 because unlike Xbox most of ps5 exclusives will...
Looks like is the key word there. There are moments when the lighting hits perfectly and suddenly that's not the case anymore so I don't think so.
