I HIGHLY doubt this.
Nintendo showed off the power of the system to many people with a new Zelda cinematic(a little of which was scene during the music bit at the start of the confrence) and what has been shown was NOT next gen graphics it's current gen. Zelda is a Nintendo game and it's their biggest in my opinion so there would have been no reason to hold back on pushing that demo to look as good as it could and it still looks current gen.

Upscaling or not the PS3 DOES improve the look of PS2 games and even PSone games to a much lesser extent.(Launch PS3's do anyway which is what I have) At the VERY least the WiiU should have something similar but it doesn't and I find that incredibly lazy.
It's another example of Nintendo being behind on the times. They now have a somewhat powerful console but don't do things with it that would be common sense.
I find that flat out lazy to be honest. There is no reason for it not to be there. There are plenty of games that could look ALOT better being upscaled. Super Mario Galaxy, Smash Brothers, Muramasa, Madworld, Twilight Princess and so on and so forth.

Interesting you bring up the controller. Because the FIRST thing I thought seeing it was that it would be a pain to use as a normal controller for a core game. The analog sticks being above the face buttons alone makes me think I would never wanna use it(But i can't say for sure without holding it in my hands). It looks like it was designed upside down.

Nintendo shot themselves in the foot. Really they did. People wanted a next gen console. Not a current gen console with another insane innovation that ends up pushing the devs away(regardless of what they said during the conference).
The Wii was the same way. People saw it and thought it was awesome and the novelty quickly wore off. This will be the same and with it seemingly only have power = to the current consoles people will have no reason to buy one.

I doubt it. Is it possible? Sure but it's also more likely that it's just a place holder in a earlier version of the game. Now if it had a button that wasn't one that could be found on the other consoles(like a Z or something) then maybe they would have something.
But as it stands it's pretty easy to imagine it's the Xbox version and they just haven't finished it up yet and the button icon was a place holder.

Yeah this in my opinion is the ONLY bad thing surrounding the PSVita. Everything else about it is solid. It's got a metric crap ton of tech in it and still is really cheap and has what is looking like a great line up.

I was pretty disappointed by the conference. While there were a few cool ideas to use Kinect with Mass Effect and Ghost Recon I still think it's pointless as those same tasks are easily accomplished with a controller in less time(and in the case of Mass Effect you talking out loud breaks immersion even though it's meant to do the reverse doublely so if you are playing the opposite gender Shepard like I do for example)

I played the Demo earlier today and loved what I played. From what there was everything was pretty much a more polished and better looking version of the original.
