It's stupidity to publish forum posts as news. How long before a post from N4G comments ends up on the front page?

It'd be no more ridiculous.

because the only games that sell on that system are nintendo games. It is completely different to the market for the 360 and PS3 and has no bearing on this argument.

"i heard many stores saying their 360 piles up quickly in the backrooms, not selling as fast as their restocking"

I really doubt retail outlets restock faster than they sell. Stores have to order inventory, MS doesn't just send it to them on a whim.

There is no systematic bias against any particular platform.

Of course some writers prefer one system over another, but that's generally driven by their experience with all consoles. They play them all and they end up with one they prefer. Bias indicates an uninformed preference, not a preference born of experience.

These guys all have access to all platforms, and given that they're not eight years old, they tend to judge them on their merits. So far, in terms of ge...

It's just another poorly written piece that's full of assertions and opinions rather than facts. The downside of blog/fan sites is that anyone can dress their ill-informed views up as 'news' or 'feature' stories.

I think the game will be great, so let's just get that out there.

However the issue of internet reviewers hyping games based on a short hands-on is a problem.

I thought 'Mirror's Edge' would be genius based on the demo. I thought 'Pure' was a perfect racing game based on the demo. Even 'Sonic Unleashed' seems like a lot of fun after a demo playthrough.

What he played isn't the game, but a short experience tailored to give the best possible impression, li...

Any perception that Home is a failure is the result of the ridiculous hype that surrounded it.

If it had been given a low-key launch then it might have been better received. However it's been billed as the 'next-gen' of online interaction, a revolutionary leap forward. In reality all it offers is a clunky and awkward social site that's presently full of griefers. Getting humped is not my idea of a great time.

I'm not sure who to blame, Sony or the rabid fanboys who'...

We've heard it before and it came to nothing. This is just Gameplayer whoring for hits. They do it quite a lot you know.

What is Time magazine 'teh bias' now?

It's a simple mistake. It has, and will have, no bearing on actual sales or future sales.

The world doesn't care, and nor should should you.

Either Jaffe was played or he got carried away.

I'm betting on the former. It's not Sony's style to show footage that is of lesser quality than the actual game, so what they show on the VGA's will either be equal to, or better than, what the retail game will ship with.

Jaffe must be pissed.

"Analyst Michael Pachter, who is well known throughout the gaming industry for his insight to the future of gaming"

Yes, exactly.

I don't think that test was much use.

It would be more interesting to have then come into the room, watch 10 minutes of Ironman on a single set, leave the room for ten minutes, come back and watch another 10 minutes etc. Rinse and repeat that four or five times and display the upscaled DVD and BR randomly.

I bet they'd have a much harder time telling the difference.

I'm glad that they're ditching the supernatural stuff, IP started off so brilliantly, but really fell apart for me as the story got stupider and stupider.

I'm worried about the PAR stuff though. Quicktime events are my most hated gaming trend.

I've never felt the desire to jam buttons during cutscenes, no matter how cleverly those buttons are implemented.

Yeah it's kind of similar, but it's such a small grab that I doubt that it's any more than a coincidence, there are only so many notes.

No doubt the shadows look more natural on the PS3, however that may be a result of the overall blurrier look on the PS3. There's no doubt that the 360 version is sharper and more detailed overall.

No a deal-breaker though.

Which no doubt sucks.

The PSXE rebuttal is a load of self-serving rubbish.

A review is an informed opinion. You may not agree with it, but it is not, and cannot by definition, be 'wrong'.

It doesn't matter what platform we're discussing or which title. it's idiotic to suggest that because some, or even most, blogs rate a game highly that every critic/reviewer has to do the same. In fact, it's a disgraceful suggestion.

PSXE should concentrate on their own 'reviews' and stop t...

He makes some very, very good points but then destroys it with the juvenile rant at the end, "Your Momma!". I mean, really?

Jaffe is a character no doubt, but he has a tendency to be as immature as any of the people he attacks.

Yep, I can see the value of socializing, but surely a simple open voice-chat feature would have sufficed?

It's all the other stuff that's bolted on that is making this look like very hard work.
