So that gives it a pass to be a lesser entry than those before it?
Something I have never understood is citing games that are barely more than a concept and name, such as Kojima's XBOX game and Project Mara/Dragon, as "gotcha" games when there's literally nothing there to be excited about.
The lipless status of devs is a severely underreported issue in the industry
Blizzard WAS unique many long years ago. They have been considerably less so since the Activision merger (the original, not the the recent MS one) to the point that I wouldn't even use unique or similar derivative in the same sentence as them.
Blizzard's heart and soul have long since died, replaced with hollowed detachment and GaaS schemes. And there's nothing unique about that approach in this industry either, so I have to wonder what he considers "uniqu...
@Obscure
Bro. Xbox doesn't have anything to do with most games put out under its label if we're being frank. After all, buying out and redistributing games is literally the name of their game. Marketing and console bundling on Sony's side aside, MS owns this and you can't try and spin it any other way... especially when you spent so long championing the acquisition and everything else.
It's "their" game, regardless of previo...
So I guess we can expect that Sledgehammer games will be disbanded, courtesy of MS ownership and this failure and low effort. No good press on this at all from what I've seen.

Vol.2 never comes, Konami uses "poor sales figures" excuse
*in Patrick Bateman voice*
Hmmm, very interesting... now, let's see ABANDONED's gameplay....
How about no? This talk should be reviled. However "easy clicks" will always win out. Let devs be. Indie devs should be the ones who get to decide if they go full allegiance or not, otherwise it makes the "independent" part redundant.
Nobody should acquire them, and they, as an independent dev, should be allowed to choose which platform(s) to develop for.
Mr. Bones Wild Ride creaks to life for another encore loop
Haha.
The dryness of this is so good. I'll probably remember this comment in the morning and chuckle some more.
Are you okay, Obscure? Is MS endangering you? Blink twice if you need help.

I really want to be excited for this. I well and truly do. However....
Perhaps because this is one of my top 3 all time best games, I have a guard up against this actually being more than a visual upgrade. As in, essentially the PS2 experience with a coat of UE 5 paint.
There's a ton of opportunity here. What I would like is more akin to MGSV's animation and game play, but then I see the CQC grab present in this video and it looks very much like t...
Gee whiz, what happened here?
In response to Crows90, I don't believe that I said there isn't any. I said they've been far and few between, a strong distinction.
In response to Rupee, again I didn't say that there wasn't any, or not enough. Perhaps you personally get excited for third party content and that's fine if you do, nobody's taking that away from you. But for me, personally, hearing there will be a showcase and then he...
Is this better than the previous nothing? Yes.
Does that mean this shouldn't have been done over with a fine tooth comb? No.
This was the perfect opportunity to present a nicely compiled collection featuring the additional bells and whistles for modern visual setups and QoL improvements as needed.
Imagine Konami announcing Silent Hill Master Collection and they use the HD versions of 2 and 3
The sad thing is that excluding Nintendo, this has been the third party generation so far because exclusives on both sides have been so few and far between. Something about the initial hype of "Xbox/Playstation showcase" and then the immediate deflation with "3rd party games"
Persona 3 is where the series started for a lot of people. It still maintained its niche status but exposure grew at P3, and then by P4 it was skyrocketing and became considerably less niche.
The first two did see more attention in their PSP releases, but I'm not sure if they sold well enough to warrant another attempt at re-exposure. There's also the problem now of SEGA having final say since buying ATLUS, and I would figure this is the true culprit behind where t...
Actually, as this only existed on N64 with no proper PC port, a whole lot more work went into this than it seems on the surface.
