Possibly the biggest turn around in the history of gaming because just a few years ago Valve slated the PS3, now it is their lead console... and in the process make something wonderful.

That part that interested me the most was cross-platform play and cross-platform multiplayer.
Perhaps now there is scope to use the PS3 USB ports for mouse and keyboard.
I like that I can buy the PS3 version for comfort on the sofa, and then go on my PC and play the PC version for a graphics upgrade if I feel like it. I assume I can carry on from my save point using Steam Cloud Saves?

This is most useful for those who own both a PC and PS3.
I am guessing here that PS3 exclusives will not feature on the PS3 Steam environment but like you say, if it is on Steam PC as well then we get that. What a bonus!

consoles are not holding games back, the developers not willing to support PC gaming are responsible for that.
And dead_eye, PS3 exclusives are not near the scale of the top PC games in graphics and content.
DICE need to concentrate on maxing out current consoles instead of getting lazy and demanding that we pay for new hardware.

Well, they didn't bring anything new to the table. I cannot say what would be new though because if I did then I would be very rich and very popular.
I can honestly live with the shadows, I have learnt to accept it especially I try to drive in cockpit view. And yeah it does look super ugly just before the race starts but again, I can live with it. Content should surely be a priority though wouldn't you think?
I would hope the graphics fix would be more a technical patch that is quite small and the update a content related patch that is bleeding huuuuuuge lol.

There were rumous of the Linux community creating a loopback program that fried hackers hardware, not sure if it really existed but if true I would support it's use on both PC and consoles.
You cheat or pirate, your machine fries. There would be some collateral damage though with a few innocents getting caught up which would be a problem...

I already have but thought I would make the first comment a little more general gamer friendly. I have a solution for big box in the room effect though, it is connected to a monitor as the TV so anyone can use it the same time as I play. She facebooks in the the corner, I burn rubber on the DiRT and gravel! XD
